I got this call a week after recieving my medi-cal packet in the mail, the # is the same as is on the literature they sent, however, why would they call and say nothing after I repeatedly said hello, the number may be spoofed..i'd be cautious. If they are who they say, ask them to give you info about you (from their files) to confirm who "they" are..

same call I received today...and I just received my medical packet yesterday... yet I wonder why they have to call me if they have send me the packet already.. SCAM ???hmmm

Ummm...wrong!!! Read the other messages! They ARE telemarketing! And to top it off, all the other callers say they are calling from California....I have Medi-cal but in New Mexico so you are completely wrong and these either are scammers or telemarketers.

I got a call from this number today also. They say it's "health care options" but according to the other callers these ppl are calling concerning Medi-cal in CalifOrNia. I have Medi-caid in New Mexico for one. Another thing, they don't call- any issues I've had, they send a letter. And also, I just signed up in June, and on the paperwork they sent me it says I don't recertify til November. So there would be no need for them to be contacting me. And lastly, I've talked to them on the phone before and I also worked for a dental insurance company in California that contracted with medi-cal and we NEVER, EVER asked for a ssn# for verification. We ask for Medi- cal id # or name and dob and address to verify..... And that's if they called us. This caller is either a total scam or telemarketer. I'd say scam since asking for ssn#'s but either way I would just ignore it and if u have something pending do what these other SMART ppl did and call Medi-cal directly!

Keep calling them back and press 0 to talk to a live person. Then waste their time like they are doing yours. Tie up their phones. Prevent them from messing with u.

I believe this to be a scam also! They are fishing for information. When they call and say nothing is perplexing? But either way its not a helpful call.

This is the number for the State of California Healthcare options. If you have state healthcare, that's why they are calling you.

I answered the phone without meaning to since I was expecting another call. I said hello but no one responded. I did not hang up though (expecting an automated message to kick in at any moment) and I immediately went online to search the number. After about 30 seconds I heard someone say "Hello? Hello?" Turns out that the call was from Medi-Cal. They knew my name and the fact that I was supposed to receive something in the mail from them.So it appears that it is valid number for Medi-Cal, but that it could take 30 seconds for someone to respond once you answer.
