Got a caller from someone who said he was calling for AT&T and Direct TV. Very obviously from a boiler room with many voices. He had a foreign accent, likely Indian. I asked where he was calling from, and he said New York (Rochester, I think). I asked him to tell me the capitol of New York and he hung up. Fifteen minutes later, got another boiler room call from a different number, same foreign accent. He said he wanted to offer me a business loan. When I asked where he was located, he said Tampa, Fla (and that was the caller I.D. number as well). I asked him to name other cities in Florida. I was surprised to learn that Ohio and Indiana are towns in Florida! He said that I was wasting HIS time when he was trying to offer me a LEGITIMATE business opportunity, and hung up.

I never answer, but get this call consistently three to four times a week.

Calls my number numerous times a day. I answer and no reply on other end, just alot of static. Never leaves a message if I don't answer.

Called my DNC registered landline. I don't have Direct TV. No voicemail. Unlikely it was really Direct TV. Probably a well spoof CID.

This number has been used to harass/annoy people for 10 years and nothing our government could do about it !!! Today is my turn they called. Only I can do is BLOCK this number forever.

I received a call from 800-531-5000 on Saturday 8/19/17 at 3:53 PM. The Caller ID showed DIRECTV MAIN NU. I didn't answer the call. So, I don't know if it was legit or not.

Posing as Direct TV

It is not really DirecTV calling. They have like many others being able to hide the number that they are actually calling from where it shows it looks like it's tit DirecTV.. it's a scam

Call stated they were from Directv promotions and offered promotion of upgrade to Premier package 2 years with no contract @ 69.99 mo. They claimed it was a promotion backed by Ebay that wanted to promote their gift cards. In order to get this promotion I would have had to go to store and get an ebay gift card in the amount of 420.00 to prepay for 6 months and then be billed 69.99 after 6 months for the remaining 18 mo or if cancelled. I called Directv directly and confirmed that this was in fact a scam. Do not do it!!

Live female with heavy Indian accent. Said who she was with, when I asked her to repeat it she went quiet. I am not a Direct TV customer. Scam now blocked.
