I called the Physicians Billing Department of the Hospital ER Doctors. I owe nothing. These type of calls have been received before.
I received the same call!I work in computer security and do PCI-DSS assessments. This struck me as a phishing scam and I told her so. She hung up on me.
They left an automated voicemail saying that they are with "patient accounts at Star (?)'. While I do have a few outstanding medical bills from a recent car accident, none are with a company that even sounds like Star.I'm guessing that they are some sort of medical bill collector.
Sleep Management Solutions. Automated call system identified herself as Cindy from Star. Call back number is 888-892-0547. I have a CPAP with CIGNA Insurance and they were calling about an outstanding invoice for a co-insurance amount of $33.43 (difference owed after co-pay and deductible). The representative I spoke with was very nice and helpful. I have health insurance through a new payer now and she said to just fax or mail the front and back of my Insurance ID card to:Care CentrixPO Box 7780London, KY 40742FAX: 813-886-4371
As others have stated, this is a medical debt collector that calls itself "Star Medical". They are not CareCentrix, Sleep Management Solutions, or any of the other medical providers mentioned, just a third party bill collector. If you get a call from these scum bags, I'd recommend calling your actual healthcare provider that you owe money to and working out a payment plan directly with healthcare provider rather than feeding the parasites at "Star Medical".FYI - CareCentrix is a healthcare services provider and they own Sleep Management Systems.
This is Care Centrix where I receive my CPAP supplies. I had already paid the bill, but it had not showed paid. Luckily, they were able to trace it.
they have now called me three times today. Even when I do answer, the automatic system comes on. Today, there is no one there. I do have an account with CareCentrix but it's impossible to catch a callback number. they used to leave a message, but they don't anymore.
I also received a call from this company. My bill was due on the 22nd and they began calling me on the 28th. Debt collection for a bill that is 6 days late? When I answered, I was immediately put on hold. I hung up because it is extremely rude to interrupt someone's time for a completely unknown reason then make them wait.I received another call which I answered, then waited on hold to see who was calling. When I asked what company they were with, they gave me some name that was completely unknown to me, told me it was about an invoice (implying money owed) then asked me for my birth date. I told them no, and they made a rude reply and hung up.Really? In today's world with scams all over the place, an unknown caller who asks for personal information is a huge red flag. I looked up the phone number which brought me to this site. Yes, it was in regards to a sleep management bill from CareCentrix - which was valid - but why would they choose to do business with a company like this? It really reflects poorly on their service. I'm considering finding another company to get my supplies from.
It is Sleep Management systems "Bill Collectors". They're records are never in order. Be prepared to have all your payment information (records of their billing and your payments) ready and your game face on...
