I am constantly receiving call from this number asking me if I want to donate blood. I told them many times that I sign myself up when I choose, with local drives in my area. They call daily and interrupt dinner. They will not stop calling despite my multiple requests for them to do so.
It's not the same number that calls. I have received calls with caller ID actually saying "Red Cross" to donate blood. Now this one comes up. I wasn't home to answer these calls, but I got two within two days.
I don't think people are being dramatic at all. If people are kind enough to donate blood, they should not be harassed by the Red Cross. They just lost my support!
Red Cross stop bothering me! I will donate my damn blood again when I have time and energy after a 50-60 hour work week!
I donate blood and volunteer for the red cross. Our organization is flooded with tongs of work and re rely (at least in my division) on 50% volunteer basis. That means 50% of our staff our volunteers. Give them a little break, we have an automated calling system so that volunteers can actually do a little bit to help. There are problems yes but don't sign off on the red cross for it.My mother needed blood as a baby, and a LOT during her kidney transplant, and my father needed blood after a donation. This blood saved both of my parents lives (my mothers life multiple times). So please consider your impact before giving up donating completely!
I too gave platelets for the longest time and would leave the chair stiff and very uncomfortable. They really need to figure out a better way to take platelets for sure that takes less than 1.5-2 hours of immobility. I do not give anymore due to the discomfort and fact my doctor wants me on a daily aspirin which last check prohibits the giving. I am at fault for not letting them know but they call me all the time too. I would much rather give blood again and need to check in on that locally again since I moved. But yes, the every 2-3 days calling is a headache and RC should re-examine their policy on this. They should put your phone in the system and on the 54th day give you a complimentary call to remind you that in 2 days you can give again. Then the system resets again for the 54th day to give the notice and so on until you tell them to stop calling. I also think they should have a way online to enter your phone for the "do not call" list. Don't get me wrong, happy to give, just tone down those every 2-3 days like everyone is complaining about. It is rather annoying.
Now you sound like a recorded automated and quite honestly telerecruiter email to all post here. Do you just cut and paste the same thing over and over???? Come on.......these people have said they have had no results from telling your 3rd party company to stop! Maybe you should get another 3rd party company that can follow instructions. This is not rocket science Red Cross. We know you have to drum up business and it is purely a donation effort. But your response to all the folks here is rather, well, arrogant.
