I have asked to be placed on the do not call list several times, as I am not eligible to donate platelets again until next year, but I have continued to receive calls. I even specified the date after which I would again be eligible to donate so that I would not receive calls until that time. Simply informing the telarecruiters that I don't want to receive calls has not been effective.
They call and show up on caller ID as "toll free number". I know it's Red Cross but on principle I don't usually answer because they call anonymously. I don't respect any business that doesn't identify themselves properly on caller ID. Legit businesses/charities shouldn't do this. They don't leave a message and the caller ID keeps them anonymous. What if you wanted to call them back because you weren't home when they called? SECOND, they call WAY too often. Sometimes several times in one week. If they identified themselves, people might answer and if they left a message, they would probably have some people return their calls. They would have to call less often than 4-5 times a week.
When you give blood at any blood drive with red cross, you can ask them to make a note that you do not want any phone calls about donating. This will end their constant calls. I give blood on a regular basis and that was the thing to do to stop all the calls. Hope this helps.
30 unsolicited calls to my child's unlisted emergency only cell phone that she has had for several years. TIRED OF THE HARASSMENT!!!
Yes I believe in helping that is why I donated my blood. I have a negative o blood type and I knew my blood type is most needed. I am a petite person around 110 lbs. When I go over a few pounds I volunteer to donate, but even though I told the people that called, they are calling me at least 3 times a day. I hate it! I did it out of my heart not because I owe them. Please send a post card or something instead of calling non stop.
Ditto what David said. I find it hard to understand why the Red Cross would call and not leave a message. They should also have a policy of not calling people who are medically unable to give blood. That is a waste of their time. Someone said they picked up, but when they asked where to give blood, the caller did not even know. What good is that? Is this really the Red Cross?? If it isn't, these callers are hurting a worthy cause. Or a worthy cause is hurting itself!
I cannot donate blood, and have told them several times. They got my number because I once tried but was turned away. Now I get calls all the time. I tell them that i am unable to give but they still call. It is really bothersome.
