DCI continually calls us! It all started with a voice mail. Some person saying she was Mrs. Banks and we needed to call her at a 1-800 number. We called back and soon realized she did not have the correct person. We told her that. The next day we received yet another voice mail from DCI! We no longer answer their calls or return voice mails. They still call! It's continued now for well over 2 months. They do not have the correct person, they do not care. They insist we are being "less than truthful." They break every law in book and do not care. They have no scruples! Do not answer their calls or return their messages. They will either, not answer, keep you on hold until you give up and hang up, or yell and scream at the top of their lungs. They are not interested in whether or not they have contacted the correct person. I am not even sure they are truly interested in collecting debts - they just enjoy harrassing people. Seems to me most of the people they contact are not the people they are looking for. I know some advice mentions sending DCI a registered letter, etc., etc. I would think about that long and hard. If you've received no mailings from them, that means they do not have your address. That also means you probably are not the person they are looking for. They have skip tracing down pat! They are all ready attacking you through federal communication lines. Why give them the ammunition to attack you via the United States Postal Service. Call your state's attorney general, that office can be of assistance. In the mean time record the date, time, and caller ID info for each of their calls. If you have digital voice mail - save their voice mails. That is proof of their harassment. Document, document, document.

Apparently you know how to spell, but do you know what FDCPA means? If not you should as DCI employees violate The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act more times than anyone can count. You might be able to spell, but your reading comprehension skills sure needs some work - as do your manners!

No one should have to send a cease and desist letter to DCI. DCI should make certain they are calling the correct person. You should not just google a name and then pick the one that seems to fit! You should follow the law, but you don't. The only information the DCI rep gave when she called me was my name - first and last - a very common name. She insisted I owe money for a T-mobile account. I've never had a T-mobile account. She insisted I give my address, and social security number to confirm who I am. Are DCI employees on drugs? Who in this day and age would supply information like that to some caller? When I finally convinced the woman I was not going to give her personal information, she asked if the last 4 of my social security number was 6612. I said no, because the last 4 of my social security number is not 6612. She then told me I must have a child with the same name who opened a T-Mobile account. I told her no, because I don't. Didn't matter, she called me a liar - well, asked why I wasn't being truthful. I told her to take my name and number off the list and not contact me by phone ever again. Of course that doesn't work. Supposedly all I have to do is send a letter! Yes send a letter that includes my address! Well, they don't have the correct person, but they call relentlessly. Why would I give them more information? Here's the thing - if DCI is so sure I owe a debt, why have they never mailed me one bill? If they are so sure they have the correct person why have they not attempted to take me to court? They are just calling people who have the same name as someone who owes a debt. They hope if they keep calling and bugging you long enough you'll give in and pay a debt you don't owe jsut to get rid of them. Their practices are questionable and many are illegal. They are rude and obnoxious and the worse part about it is they are trained to be that way! They are trained to believe they are in the right, they have the right number, person, etc., that everyone they call is a no good dead beat, etc. Notice I used the word "trained." :)

Let's see shall we. I am a bill collector, and yes it may not be the most respectable job in the world, but you know what someone has to do it. If America was so great and everyone did what they were suppose to do then there would be no need for bill collectors. Yes, sometimes we have the wrong number, but what YOU ALL (myself included)need to know is that there are some "professionals" if you will call them that avoid paying their bills and have people screening their calls. We have all the persons information and we need to verify any and all info, because IF you are the wrong person, why do we want to waste our time talking to you? I know I don't. Its simple really, if you are not them simply just tell them, verify the last 4 of the SSN, what can they do with 4 #'s???? BECAUSE WHAT IF!!! Someone did get your info and open an acct in your name and you know nothing about it, its going to effect you, not the person that opened it, unless they are caught and even then you will need to do a list of things to make sure this gets taken care of. And IF you are TRULY NOT the person we are looking for then you do not have to send a stupid letter but sometimes they don't remove it when they should, but from my stand point, I'll remove a wrong # right away if I know its wrong, other than that...it's whatever. If you yell and scream at them, what that is telling them is that you are the person and you are embarrassed of the fact that you even owe a debt. I am very reasonable and honest, I have no reason to yell, cuss, call you a lier because it is not me that you owe the money to. But, nonetheless; not everyone that you talk to is going to be rude, just keep that in mind. Don't feed into it, and for those of you that claim to know the FDCPA make sure you actually do before you start throwing that in our face...because 99% of what you claim to know, you don't.

LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY BROTHER'S ANSWERING MACHINE AT HIS RESIDENCE SAYING THAT THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE SOME NEW CHARGES ON MY WIFES CREDIT CARD WAS ACTUALLY HER AND NOT SOMEONE ELSE. My son had a T-Mobile account under my name when he was 17. He moved several times and failed to notify T-Mobile. The DCI person gave me the T-Mobile account number and phone number and waited online while I called T-Mobile to confirm the charges.

I'm receiving daily and twice a day calls from this # and others:904.247.5500866.427.5359They are calling for someone that I don't know. I have called and told them whoever it is is not at my # on 8.31 and 9.19 and today 10.8 I told them they'd better stop or they'll be hearing from my attorney!

A rep from DCI started calling my house again after 4 months. He claims that we owe $ for an account with Sprint/Nextel which happens to be paid in full as of June. This rep claims that he spoke to someone at Sprint and they said that we still owe the $. I find it funny because we spoke to Sprint as well 4 different times and they show the account at a zero balance. When I told him that he told me that I would need to provide him with my bank statement that showed the $ came out of my account from Sprint. Needless to say he won't be getting my bank statement.
