You do not have to be harassed by creditors. If they say anything obscene and continue to call you after you have to them not to, they are breaking the law. Do a web search on Debt Collectors Harassment and find an attorney who will represent you. You can sue them for harassment and they will be fined.

And I assume due to your very wise legal advice you must be an attorney. Also, when you're doing your search, look for how to stop us from calling. Send a cease and desist letter to us, then the calls will stop.

What do you do to these people that are very rude and are calling and bugging you about a bill that is not yours and they will not listen!!

Message left on my unlisted home phone (woman's voice):"Hello. This message is for [name of someone I have never heard of]. My name is Chelsea Bailey. I just need to touch base with you regarding a small issue in the office. It's [mumble]. However, I do have a toll-free number you can reach me at whenever you have an available moment. The number is 1-800-771-5361-x1119. I look forward to speaking with you soon and you have a great day. Thank you."According to this website, this call actually originated from Diversified Consultants, Inc. (DCI), which is apparently a collections agency. I received this call soon after I moved and changed my phone number, so this caller may have been trying to harrass someone who previously was assigned that number.

Yes they do - its part of the scam.. When you file complaints against them to the FTC and State Attorney Generals- be sure to include the link to this thread so the state Attorney Generals' know they continue their illegal debt collection tactics on public forums..

Another thing that's funny. They call and call and call like the irritating and ignorant little twits that they are. But not a single letter in the mail. No debt validation, no letter stating "we're sorry we've been unable to contact you by phone". They can find my cell phone number, why can't they find my email? Threaten me in writing, I dare you. Going to take my house; I love that one. My financial problems stem from a recent divorce. She got the house. I got squat. Go right ahead and take the house you stupid piece of [***], I don't live there anymore!
