Greeted me, asked if I would be willing to answer survey questions about my carrier to receive a credit on my next bill. Then hung up.
Received a call from a Middle Eastern (or Indian) gentleman. He claimed he was from AT&T and that he would offer me $25 credit if I answered three questions. "1: On a scale of 1 to 10, rate our service?" "2: How clear are your calls?" "3: How many lines do you have with us?" He then tried to get my billing zip code and last 4 digits of my social security number.
Said he was doing a survey for AAT, the number showed up as a tmobile. said I would get a $20 credit on my next bill
Got this call... said they were ATT .. answer a few questions and get 20$ credit on bill..a couple of days later they will call you and send you a text message to verify their call so you can get your credit.. The tx message say's that you are signing up for roadside assistance..Do not talk to these people.. They are scammers some way..I did talk to ATT (super nice rep) and they took off the roadside assisistance..I have yet to find out if I'm getting scammed in another way.. Some are saying that you get charge 9.95 for each of their calls..
Mid-Eastern accent says he's with T-Mobile and will give me $20 credit on bill if I answer 2-question survey, I hesitated before answering and he hung up.
Just received call from this number. Didn't recognize it,so didn't answer. After reading above comments will just ignore & delete.
THIS IS A NASTY PHISHING SCAM! I'm afraid it can catch a lot of people. The caller claims to be conducting a survey about T-Mobile service. He goes through the usual routine about this call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes and states that you will receive a statement credit for taking the survey. He then asks the normal survey questions as to call quality, satisfaction with T-Mobile, problem resolutions, etc. Then, in order to verify who he is talking to and to schedule the statement credit, he asks for the last four digits of your SSN and your zip code. He then states that he is sending you a six digit code by text message that he wants you to read back to him. If you read the entire text message, which I'm sure a lot of people probably won't, you will see that the information which you have given has been used to request a password reset and that the code you have been sent is a new temporary password. I stopped right there and told the caller that there was no way I am giving him the password to access my account and he immediately hung up. To be safe I immediately used the temporary information to change my password. If you gave out any information, log in to your account and immediately change your password. If you are too late and your password has been changed and you can't log in, call T-Mobile immediately!
As soon as the woman (sounded possibly Indian) said she was from T-Mobile customer care, I knew the call was not legit. I am not a T-Mobile customer. I just said "F*** YOU!!!" and hung up.
Just had the same call from 800 866-2453. Was exactly as Jim stated. It didn't sound right to me, so I didn't give him the code that I got in the text message. Rang T-mobile and they confirmed that it was a scam. I also called Experian the credit agency and put a fraud alert on my credit report. You can also do the same by going to their website www.experian/fraud
