This is a valid Citi fraud department number - they do not post it on their website and some of the customer service departments may not even be aware of the number. I received a call from this # saying it was the Citi fraud department and to call them back at this #. Rather than calling, I logged onto my credit card account and the first message that popped us was "Contact Customer Service - We apologize for any inconvenience, but to protect your account, further charges may be limited until you have contacted our Customer Service Department at 800-955-5172(TTY: 1-800-325-2865)". Anyone that still believes this is a fraud can easily go to citi.com and call the main number and ask for the fraud department.
I called the number on the back of my card, because I was suspicious of the number. They verified that 1-800-955-5172 is in fact a real Citibank phone number. They were calling because I lost my card and it had been found (I had already canceled the card 2 weeks ago, and they confirmed that too).
I was given this number by Citicards customer service to report suspicious activity..... It is always safe to call the customer service number on your card and they can direct your call to the correct party....
Are you sure? I also called the citibank customer service and they said it IS a valid citi number.

Larson who is at the Fraud Early Warning Dept., and he (or She)wrote a letter to me dated on August 18, 2009.I sent a reply immediately today, and I purchases some by my credit card in Hawaii from August 13 to August 21. There were few acounts prior to these date, who might be Sheraton and/or Dollar rent-a-car. They might charge me when I booked.Anyway, please check my letter with the details of my payment dated on August 28. The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
