WOW! I am so glad I decided to do some research on this DSS Research company. I was, (was) supposed to go to an interview tomorrow am for a job as a Call Center Representative. The hours for the shift available did seem odd being Friday night till 9pm, Saturday afternoon till 9pm and Sunday afternoon till 7pm. I hate when people call me with this kind of stuff and am on the gov's do not call list. I am very disappointed that this company has found a loophole around the do not call list rules. Harassment is still harassment whether it is trying to sell you something or not. Do tell anyone who calls you unsolicited by you, yourself to remove your number from their call list. Make note of the day and time. If you receive another call DO make a police report about the continued harassment and list all days and times the calls were received. Here in Ft. Worth the police dept. calls people back for non-emergency reports such as this. I too got a call from this number today. When I answered there was no one there and the call disconnected. I then logged on to this site and read some of the comments and called the number back. There is now a recording that says if you would not like to be contacted by this company please press 1. What a pleasant surprise !! I pressed 1 immediately :) No we'll see if it works.
They are surveyors do not call does not apply to them. Answer the phone and ask to be removed from list, that is the only and i mean only way to get off the list and stop getting calls. Picking up and hanging up does nothing
Ok 1. Do not call is for companies selling2. These are surveyors, they do not sell insurance, they ask for opinions, some are even paid3. They can remove you from list only on your request4. I can guarantee these calls will never be illegal as they are similar to the ones in election years5. If you have any form of government insurance or sign up with insurance, a follow up call is mandatory to ensure you werent screwed
Received five calls to date over a seven day period, all coming on my cellphone while I have been in meetings, other than the one call Saturday afternoon while I was on the motorcycle. Did a little bit of research and found that DSS Research is currently exempted from the DNC as this group is contracted to conduct government program research and surveys, as well as follow-up medical insurance surveys. When I finally decided to call back today, I received a "This is DSS..." automated message that gave me the option to be removed if I pressed "1" at that moment, which I did. We will see what happens. If they are legitimate, that should be the end of the calls. Per both the FCC and the Texas/Fort Worth BBB, if you receive a voice-mail message with an extension number that refers you to a call back the number and then encounter a phone-tree that does not give the option of connecting to that extension number or of talking to a live person, you may submit a complaint on the FCC website or file one with the Texas/Fort Worth BBB. I have done this twice (FCC Filing) in the past 14 months and both cases led to the matter being resolved within 30 days.
Ok look we all understand these calls are annoying, but there is no reason to attack the people calling. It is a job and everyone needs one. The majority of the people who work at this company are students or people who got a second job to get by. Try to be more understand and less of an [***]. Everyone needs a job. If you dont want the calls grow a pair and ask them to take you off the list dumbass
You can't put their number on the do not call list. Only your own so that reputable marketers won't call you.
