A man pretending to be from the treasury department asked if I have spoken with leutenact Davis. The man said the police will stop by soon to arrest me as there is a legal complaint against me. Told him I will report his phone number to be a dded to the unwanted phone numbers list. My number is unlisted and these unwanted calls should stop.

yep all most my same conversation, and this guy calls at least 3 times a week!!

Well, I just joined the crowd. Couldn't understand half of what she said, but got enough to understand I'm in deep trouble if I don't call her back. She'll have a looooong wait. Now blocked.

I have received the same call and message as others. Mine was from Allen/Ellen Clark with a very heavy Indian accent. Stated they were from the Department of Legal Affairs with the US Treasury. They asked for Chris, but couldn't pronounce my last name. I know this has to be bogus. Anything I do with the government I use my full legal name, not my nickname.

To anyone scared...don't be. You won the 'lottery' where they found the most basic of information anyone can find online and are attempting to take your money. I got this call today on my voice mail on my land line (that is more for the family, my personal line is a cell and unlisted). The man was heavily accented and they all appear to be more or less the same message for everyone. I'm in legal trouble, please call bad or call the lawyer back, etc. I smelled the crap nearly immediately. Still, I went online and checked, and here we are. There are PAGES complaining about this on multiple sites.If you want to further make yourself feel better, go on youtube and search 'Department of Internal Affairs Treasury IRS Telephone Scam Call Voicemail'. It's almost word-for-word what I heard, and I am willing to bet you heard the same thing too. Perhaps even the same voice, as 'Austin Hall' in this video sounds an awfully lot like the person who called me. I reported it, but admittedly doubt much can be done...I am sure they have ways to mask their real number. But I laughed when I saw they were trying to say the Treasury was calling me from Glendale, CA...at least try a little, jerks. :P

I received a call from this number - Sean Williams - Saying a legal suit was being brought against me and to call him back at 818-937-1186. The accent was from India. When I called this number I questioned the individual about who he was and which division he was with etc.. He hung up on me.

Same type of call from Allen Clark. I hung up in the middle of the first call. He called right back with his "important message" of legal action being taken against me. Ridiculous!

I got the same message on my answering machine. I tried calling it the # back but it was busy each time. Then, I checked here to see what was up with it. Thank you for reporting it. I won't bother, since others called them out on it.
