called and caller ID told number but line was dead

Received a call from this number, which I did not recognize,and no one left a message.

This number has called my house 5 times today! It says it's an important medicare call for those with diabetes. It says to press 2 if I am not a senior suffering from diabetes and want to be removed from this list. I don't trust pressing 2 as i don't want to get charged for what people are saying!How can I make this stop?

Called at 2:15 pm. Phone ID says "Unknown Name". Stopped calling after 3 rings, no message left on machine.I have a relative on the way to Dominican Republic, but not there yet. Seems fishy. Perhaps someone in airline office is using phone numbers info illegally.Glad I did not pick up.

Called at 4:28 pm. Rang 3 times and hung up. Caller ID says "Name Unavailable," so I'd never answer this. That's what the machine is for. Future candidate for my blocked callers list...

I get these calls a lot, comes up on caller ID Dominican Republic. They won't leave msessage, if never even pick up on these calls, they could easily charge you way up in the hundreds, these scam artists are slick so they think, just don't answer, this is not an important call.

Thanks for all the people that is responding to 800notes.com. This just confirms that when people get hold of all personal records, financial records and medical records (like diabetes), these type of scam call start popping up, and even from out of the country. Lawmakers (via lobbyist) have for years struck down laws that protect people's privacy, with the argument "If you have nothing to hide why be concerned" - this is why - because they open the door for scammers. In stead the lawmakers should have been shutting down the scammers - but no - that would mean doing something for the people - we can't have that.

If it doesn't concern them screw the "people" or they will tell u not to answer what good is the do not call list.

I received this call @ 10:22 am. It rang 3 times, because is say name unavailable I didn't answere.I call the # from my cell phone and it says my call cannot go through.
