Can anyone verify that it's a legit debt collector. I've been scammed before.

I am trying to find out who this number belongs to as they are leaving intimidating and harassing phone messages. No legit company would act this way. I am also filing reports with several state and federal agencies and hope to get more data. If someone alleges you owe them money, it is up to them to contact you with the facts to support their claim and info on who they are along with their physical address so you know they are credible. Let them put it in writing. Enough of this nonsense! I don't have time for the games.

Ways to tell a "debt collection" company uses illegal practices.1) The person calling doesn't leave a company name in the message.2) The person calling says in the message that it has to do with a "legal matter," a sign that they are trying to scare you.3) When you search for the phone number on the internet you don't find a company which lists those numbers. (Here's a tip, even if a big company like Comcast has their employees calling from internal extensions with their own numbers, they all show up as a number that you can find on the Comcast web site, as an example.)4) The caller asks you to varify your entire social security number rather than only the last 4 digits (which shows they already have it vs. they are trying to get it from you.)Always contact your Attorney General and give them as much information as you can about these types of calls. These types of debt collectors are criminals and can be prosecuted, which is why they don't freely give their company name, call from one number, then list another number as their call back. They are trying to hide to avoid being caught.

I got a call this week from this number and they said that they were from Revenue Management Group Stating that I owed money to Advance america do not know who this company is and I do not owe this money.
