Dead air. I just sang into the phone until it hung up/ 855 is not limited to any aarea so can be anything. Caller ID said "Instituto" which sounded interesting since I go to Latin America occasionally. Who knows where this stuff comes from on Earth (or beyond)?

You are correct, Dan. This is indeed a legitimate call. And, to answer somebody further down, polling takes place throughout the year, not just before elections. Pollsters and advocacy organizations want to know the "pulse" of the people, as it were, 365 days a year, not just before an election.Not only was this a legitimate call, but when I asked the pollster a specific question derived to determine his personal political position, he clearly stated that the pollsters weren't permitted to provide that. However, from having been party to quite a few such polls -- many of which were slanted -- I can tell you that this one is, indeed bipartisan. (PhD - philosophical rhetoric -- persuasion and argumentation are my area.)Those of you who have called the callers scammers or criminals need to take a chill pill. Not everybody is out to get you.
