Magazine crap

I think they just call to try to gather info. Sometimes they hang up on me because they know I won't give them any info about the company whatsoever. I don't give names. I never use the word "yes". and sometimes I tell them I am the owner and they hate that. but screw them! I have been here so long and these numbers and callers are so obnoxious. Might as well waste any of their time for wasting yours so much. Usually you get one of these calls then almost right after you get another call. First call may be to see if someone picks up at the office. caller was from 858-900-3090.

If the trade mags are so "highly respected", why do they have to call and beg people to renew "free" subscriptions?

I got a call from a gentleman on behalf of "something something whole food bakery"? He talked a little too quick for me to comprehend. He had this whole spiel that he said that I can't recall that well but it was something along the lines of wanting feedback from my "business"/"company". I'm 19 and have never owned my own business but my father does. He works with HVAC and that has nothing to do with a bakery LOL and I don't know how they would have gotten my number anyways. Still confused about this.

They have been calling my work number on a daily basis. I wish I could block them.

Same thing as half the people here. They never leave a message and when you do answer, they just sit in silence at the end of the line for a few seconds before hanging up. Like, WTF?

Got a call at 9am at our office, long pause and then disconnected. Waste of time.

A male scammer / phisher just called on my work number.... wanted to verify info for a free trade publication subscription we've supposedly been getting for years. We get a lot of these for our work, so nothing unusual. Told him we haven't moved in years. Said he needed to do this once a year because it's free and proceeded to verify our address and the individual on the subscription and email address. Asked my first name and initial of my last name...then as if it was the most likely next question, asked what was the initial of the city I was born in! And I wasn't even the name on the subscription....
