011 is an international calling code - 86 is a country code (China) the rest is a city code and then phone number I believe. The number I got a call from tonight was 011 862 163270787. I have no idea who would be calling me from an international number so I didn't answer. I also don't want to risk the possibility of it impacting my phone bill. I'm in Canada and with Telus. Generally speaking, I don't know that there's much a phone company can do about this unfortunately. They aren't able to police for calls unless it's a consistent number in which case you can usually block it. Annoying though, nonetheless.
I, too, received the call. For the people who are asking Verizon why they don't have the no ring option on their phone, it's NOT Verizon...it's the type of PHONE you have. For those who say Verizon can't block them, it's because Verizon doesn't have the ABILITY to block unavailable calls, just like EVERY other main cell phone company in the US. The best way to do this is to set it up...and we've all heard of Mr. Number...so that it's spam & goes directly to voice mail. That way, it blocks them, but you still know there's a call, IF you cant to answer it. I just did that on my phone today, as this was the first call I received from them. Oh yeah, MR. NUMBER IS FREE. Just download it from your cell...and activate the application. I receive about 1 spam call every 3 months now, and I just continue to use Mr. Number for my blocking abilities. IT'S NOT VERIZON'S FAULT, peeps! I don't have any trouble with Verizon & I've been a customer with them for well over 7 years.
I got calls from the same number but someone actually talked to me (a man's voice)... and I was talking to a guy from CA also... and now im getting phone calls from that weird #. I asked him and he says it wasn't him! wtf?!
Called and said he was Randy Snider and he was coming by my job to deliver court papers and that i needed an ID and witness. Called again 20 minutes later and was Ray Snider gave same message (guess he is super busy and forgot he already called) was told to call 866-243-0850 to stop the delivery order.
This is actually a medical group that does testing for analysis of cases up against reimbursement due to chemical contamination, etc. In my case, I was exposed several years by C8 in the DuPont/WV study. They are using an automated dialing system that doesn't seem to be too stable.
I'm getting these calls, and, you know, having read A LOT of posts, I've got a decent guess re this. Here are the givens: 1) Via several sites, I have noted that the majority of calls from 862-824-52253 involved some sort of telemarketing endeavor; 2) The only call from this number (logged on this site) that DID NOT come from a business came from a personal phone; and 3) The number does not function upon callback . . . Based upon these given, it sounds like this is a random number - entered by a coder (computer programmer) - while building an app/function that allows any given caller (user of this particular app/function/code) to block the caller ID function. Hence, these digits are displayed from any number. Having said that, there may be something to the Skype thing, as certain standard numbers pop up on Skype calls. Could also be that the caller wants his/her number to look like a Skype call. (After all, you wouldn't accept a call from "Dak Industries".)
