The debt is still "valid" but unenforceable in court once beyond the statute of limitations (SoL). It's 4 yrs in PA. So they are hoping someone will not this and agree to pay. Or once someone pays anything towards the debt or agrees to pay the SoL may begin counting again. Varies by state. Always be careful in what you say if you in fact do have the debt.

Thanks for the info Patrick.. They keep calling NO matter what.. The ask for my mother who sadly passed away on 9/11/2015 and I'm still grieving over her.. I told them she had passed away and can't even talk to them because I start crying because I was my mother's caretaker in her last 3 yr.'s of life.. I asked what the bill was from but they could give me no information and I told them if they couldn't give me any information what the bill was regarding then I could do nothing. They got very mean and harassing and I hung up. They continue to call using the 866-580-4780 number, they also use what shows up on the phone as unknown name/unknown caller, and use a different number showing Midland Credit and another phone # that show's the name Rhama ONLY.. I don't know what to do, I mean I am all ready half crazy with losing my mother back in Sept., but they continue to call me on a daily basis, at least 3-5 times per day so I finally stopped answering any call if I don't recognize the phone number.. I saw on the post Patrick had made that it was something regarding a "payday loan" but my mother never got such a thing.. They are calling Mon-Sun-, yes 7 days per week, and the phone starts ringing from 8 a.m. up until around 7 in the evening.. What should I do if anyone has any helpful information please.. THANKS in advance if someone can help!!!!

same thing happened to me ive blocked so many numbers from these idiots it isn't funny and when they do answer there are little indian dudes that hardly speak English. Reminds me of the Indian character from the Simpsons. I wonder if they do use people from india. I will keep blocking these [***].

The answer is to outright ban the 'selling' of debt to collectors.

I have gotten 10 calls from this number in the last week....I have no unpaid bills and definitely no collections against me, so not sure what they want....

Why can't these useless no good low life's be stopped from making these unwanted scamming calls. Most come from heavy Indian accents. You would think that in today's high technology there would be a way to put a stop to theses morons. I NEVER ANSWER THESE CALLS so they will not scam me.

They left me a message saying they would serve me papers and see me in court.
