I know it is a law firm that handles collections for DPS traffic tickets, I just paid a failure to appear/speeding ticket hanndled by the firm.

The call is from the MVBA Law Firm, Collections department.They handle collections for TX DPS tickets that have not been taken care of in court.If you're getting a call from them, it probably means you were speeding and got pulled over somewhere in TX and never paid your ticket.

they keep callin me. so i finally called back to see what it was. they claim that my husband got a ticket in sugarland tx back in 1994 and they are collecting the money from that. hard to believe since he cant get his military security clearance if he has outstanding warrants, and the statute of limitations would have been expired on anything after 7 years. seems phisy to me. the people you talk to are rude, and say that the only thing their law firm does is collect on unpaid speeding and parking tickets. odd.....they could give me no other information. i smell a rat....the woman said my husband gave the officer the number they called when he was pulled over..oddly enough, we are on the east coast, and at the time of the 'ticket' he lived in the midwest, nowhere near texas...hhhmmmmmmmm....so how would he even know this number 14 years before he got the number?????

My daughter has been getting calls on her cell phone from these people almost every day asking for her ex-boyfriend and he actually got a letter in the mail from them to call about "an important legal matter". She finally called mostly to tell them to quit calling. They asked HER for full payment TODAY by phone for an unpaid traffic citation. She is of course smart enough to not fall for that especially since the call wasn't even for her. She has made him pay all of his old tickets over a year ago and there are no warrants so this sure sounds like a scam to get the unsuspecting. Guess they get a certain percentage that maybe do have an unpaid ticket and fall for it.

toll free calls similar to university of phoenix ads harassment- if DPS pays for these services then the public money is used to fund such calls and advertising. What is the government receiving in the form of services? Citizen intimidations and harassments? Where does the law come into play?
