I would like these calls STOP!!!! I dont care who u s calling....im not interested!!!!!!!
Received (2) calls from (804) 271-1318 stating they were from Health Program thru Anthem giving me a reference #. Was told to call (877)309-4886 and refer to reference # when calling. I called and after I gave the reference # they wanted me to give them more info. Told them no and for them to stop calling me. Then I hung up. When I called the phone number on the back of my Anthem Health Insurance card (800#) which is for Member Services, spoke with someone, gave them the reference # and she told me – “That reference number is an intake claim # for services in 2013”. I was told there were no notes on my account indicating that anyone had called. These two (2) numbers I listed above are NOT Anthem phone numbers. Scammers.
Supposively calling from Anthem BC/BS. I called Anthem and there is no record of anyone calling me from Anthem and no claims or pending items that needed any follow up on. This number called my cell which was not given to Anthem. When I told the guy I was going to call Anthem he said "well, they will just direct you back to us" I said Great! I'll be taking to you in a bit then". He hung up. :-) when the guy called (they had been calling for the past week twice a day - I was just in the mood to talk to them today, since I had seen a previous report questioning Thier validity) he right away wanted my birthdate to "verify I am who I say I am" when I did not give it to him and started questioning him he became slightly agitated.looks like a phishing scheme.
You are totally incorrect, IAMicried. I work for that department and am employed by Anthem BCBS and we are NOT a 3rd party. (Anthem is known by different names in different states) We are the "Image Cost and Quality" department. Our job is to contact members who have digital imagery scans pending (CT, MRI, MRA) and let them know there ARE alternate facilities who can do the same scans for less, sometimes literally saving thousands out of pocket. 1-877-309-4886 Because of Federal hipaa laws, we cannot give any detailed information until we verify it is the right person it was intended for. (Would you want your insurance company providing good old Achmed your info just because he says he is you?)
Caller Stated they were from Anthem and gave this REFERENCENUMBER 96731525 I called Anthem and spoke with a CSR Agent and she stated there was no record of Anthem calling me at anytime in the last 2 months
This is a SCAM! They called pretending to be representatives from your health insurance company. DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR IDENTITY. Always call the number on the back of your insurance card or on your insurance bill. These people claim to want to save you money but they are really trying to steal your information. I called Blue Cross directly and they said that this was not a service related to them. The CSR even called the number and talked to somebody there and he verified that this is fraudulent.
this is a valid # not scammers, they helped me find a lower cost facility to get an MRI instead of the hospital - saving me $1300 on out of pocket costs.. They are part of BCBS
less than 30 minutes after I got approval from my doctor's office for an MRI I get a call from this number. they used my full name and place of employment and stated that she (Gina) was from anthem blue cross. "time sensitive" & ref #'s followed."this is not a sales call" was used at the end. seriously? 30 minutes after I get medical clearance??. someone , somewhere is getting paid off for this.
I scheduled an MRI and about a week later got a call from this company to try and help find an alternative facility to save me money on the MRI. They only wanted to verify birthdate name and address NOT SS#. They called the member department on my behalf and set everything up which will save me over $250 (based on my copay). They are part of the image cost and quality group and it makes sense because the original hospital has a negotiated rate with anthem for $1600 and the new facility negotiated rate is $350 so it saves Anthem money too. The website they gave me anthem.com/compare is this group calling you... legit.
