Left message assuring us that she is not trying to sell us anything but that we could take advantage of a program Blue Shield offers. I looked up "Shied Support" which is the name of the program and got a website that was tagged malicious. Blue Cross Blue Shield never calls about anything. I think this is a dangerous scam for older people.

This call was from Blue Shield of California. As far as I can tell, this service provides nothing of benefit to the patient.Rather this program claims to be designed to "coordinate care" for people with serious, continuing and/or life threatening conditions. Based on my reading of what BSCA means by "coordination of care," this program doesn't do anything more than save the insurance company money by making sure patients with really expensive health conditions are not receiving more than the absolute minimum of benefits BSCA can be required to pay for. It also appears to be designed to stop you obtaining treatment that BSCA would rather not pay for.Modern "customer service" at its best...Block 'em.
