I had a missed call from this #. They left a voice message that said press 1 if I wanted to accept this call.
Janet, I am curious to know if your calls last for the minutes that you are charged for. I am new to this service, and my first call I charged to my cell phone, 9.95 for a 5 min call. I had to listen to the companies spiel, and was when my caller finally started talking we were cut off after 2 min. the second time I paid for a 10 min call which lasted 6 min. again the first 2 mins listening to the companies spiel, and then 4 min with my caller. It's easy to track the minutes when you're on a cell phone. My phone does it for me. Very frustrating that I'm paying 14.95 for a 4 min conversation. Wondering what your experience, or others experience has been with this.
Not a scam, either someone misdialed or someone you know is in jail and trying to reach you.
It is not a scam. Someone you know whether past or present who either knows or remembers your phone number, is calling you from jail. My call was from my nephew and was a minute prepaid call. They did however go into the options of paying $14.99 for a longer call which I did not do. The prices are rediculous. Collect calls from jail for my normal phone company are cheaper then this. Some people do still have a land-line. Why isn't that an option from all correctional facilities. Capitalizing on the incarcerated and their families.
I think the company has started sending scam calls. I had previously received a call from the institution referred to so that is probably how they got my number but know of no one in there at this time. The inmates recording I hear says "Bro it's me pick up". The recording sounded identical the two times I really paid attention which there should have been some differences if the inmate was really calling again. I intend to report this to the institution so they can investigate and consider dropping that companies services. I may add that it did cause me 30 minutes of grief trying to figure out if a loved one was in jail.
