Same deal, Fido customer who has started getting calls from this number. Perhaps if enough of us are complaining they will actually do something about it?

I just signed up with FIDO yesterday and already received a call from this numberwhen i was with rogers i would receive random calls as well from time to timei thought when i changed over it would change since i was starting fresh with a new numberbut i guess since rogers own fidosame thing happens...

It works what was said before. Call Fido 888-481-3436, complain and demand to speak to manager. When they say they will call back say no, I want to talk to manager now and will stay on line as long as needed. They will be annoyed and hateful but will not hang up on you. They hate this but they started it so have some fun and return favour. And always ask them their name even after they say it and ask them how it is spelled and then ask for employee ID. They hate that too. But they started this so go for it and don't let up.

First 3rd party texts occure just as you described with all cariers and because rogers is a canadian company they have to charge HST on all service charges they pass on the $1.50 or what ever to the 3rd party... And those third parties get your number from the net when you are filling out offers for free things on the net you just have to text stop to the number to have them stop. 2nd I also had fido call me and they wanted to speek to me but my phone died and the call was lost...

Answered it today and someone was finally on the other end.Its a company called IOS that does the telemarketing for Fido.He said that because I had bought a smart phone they wanted to confirm my plan was setup correctly and tried to up-sell me on Longdistance and Data plan options.Thank god I answered so they can stop calling me now!

I recently changed to fido a week ago. They called today, I didn't know the number so I didn't answer it. Luckily I found this forum so I now know its Fido :S

Didn't it ever occur to you that it is a FAKE companie taking Fido's name!!??

I switched my number over to Fido from Virgin mobile nearly 4 years ago and never got a call.My girlfriend just switched over to Fido and the number has called her about 10-15 times in the last 2 days alone. She's on the phone right now with Fido customer service giving them hell.Will report back if it solves anything.

I'm with fido and keep getting calls from this number. 1 877 866 9930 ...4 or 5 times a day .. everyday ...................SO ANNOYING !!!!!!!!!!!

Also had calls from this number since getting my new phone (also an iphone). Few times I picked up and no one was on the other line. Today I finally picked up and someone actually answered (perhaps bad connection?). It was a Fido representative asking about the ease of use with new phone (ex. was able to set up email?), review of current 'plan' & options in hopes to elicit questions from me about any changes I may want. Not exactly a survey, but close enough.Hopefully this is the end of the calls.
