This is a group of GYPSY scam artists, especially interested in getting elderly people who have "forgotten" that they ordered "contracting services" to give out their credit card number, get recorded saying "Yes" in answer to the question, "Is this so and so?" so the gypsies can then use that as a falsified contract for work then levy a mechanic's lien against the home. It is a huge problem and the FBI needs to shut it down.

Called me a little while ago. Obviously spoofed number that was stopped by my blocking service.

This is a bad one, be careful and best: don't answer. Scammer insisting on money for taxes not payed.

Got a call from "Mike" with "California Construction" soliciting home improvement work. I informed "Mike" that I have no idea why he is contacting me. He stated that he called last year. I repeated that I have no interest in his services and that he is not to contact me again, to which he stated, "I'm going to call you everyday, punk!" I replied that I will be contacting the FCC regarding his calling. He disconnected the call.

Still another unwanted call from this invalid (spoofed) toll-free number arrived today, just 2 weeks since the last unwanted call on Feb. 27. Once again, when the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space. Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) often spoof their numbers to cover their tracks while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.Some posters report this is an out-of-work contractor (possibly unlicensed), sometimes going by the name of "Mike with California Construction." Folks, the phone lines are already teeming with scam contractors, scam police charities, scam solar energy vendors, scam vacation giveaways, and other assorted fraudsters. A scam is a scam is a scam.DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE TELECRIMINALS. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

I also received a call from 888-153-2586 individual said the name was Kevin and that he was a local contractor doing work in the area seemed to be petitioning for home repairs. I indicated that were not interested and to remove us from the "internal" do not call list but it seemed as if Kevin hung up.

Called on my cell phone. I could hear lots of people saying "hello" in the background. Obviously a call center. When he finally realized I had answered the phone, he asked to speak to the homeowner. I laughed, hung up, and blocked the number.
