I'm suspicious that the people on here that say the call is legit, are part of the scam. I physically went into a Navy Federal branch and had them look at my account. They said that there is absolutely no reason that they would have called me. Also, the lady informed me that if it was legit, they would have appointed a live person to phone me, and they will never have an automated machine ask for information over the phone like that. Do not trust ANYONE these days!
This is legit, as it just happened to me. I called NFCU directly and told them about the voicemail and the number I was supposed to call to verify the charges. They told me the number on the message is their automated fraud line, but if I was ever concerned about any messages left by NFCU to call them directly and they will connect me to the fraud department.
I received several calls from this number as well but instead of calling back the number provided, i called the actual number for Navy Federal customer service. The Navy Federal representative said that if the call came from them there would have notes in the system to indicate that I was being informed of credit card fraud. There were no notes in the system; hoever, I was unsure about certain charges on my account so I canceled the card to be on the safe side. To this day I am not sure if it is a scam or not but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Got the call from this number and let roll to VM. It was NFCU and it was a live person. They were just informing me a new branch had opened nearby. No biggie.
Got a couple calls from this number. Turned out to be Navy Federal, they verified it was them when I called them (at a different number). Activity on my credit card had triggered a fraud alert. Sure enough, there were some erroneous charges I didn't make. I informed them he caller ID did say Unknown Caller which made me suspicious.
Not a fraud. Go look at their official website, in the Contact Us section. That's their main call center line.
You will never get a call from a 1800 number or 1888 number. those numbers are for incoming calls to the business or company paying the long distance fee for you.
This is Navy Federal Credit Union. This number showed up when my local branch was calling me to pick up my new debit card.

I called the Chase number on the back of my card and they said they had NOT called me, said it was scammers. I had two calls on my machine asking me to call them back.

Claim to be discover card. I don't have that disreputable card and haven't had one for 20 years, so they have no reason to call me. Very suspicious.
