Got a call at 1:39 EST.Didn't answer because all it said was New York.I now am in the habit of checking this web site whenever I get calls from unknown numbers.Thanks for everyone's vigilance in posting their experiences! It is soooooo very helpful!!!!! Plus, I always figure that if they can't leave a message,it's not that important!
Just got a call ESG Research at 914-373-7134 promising me a free trip to the Bahamas if I answered three questions about the nation's debt crisis. Knew it had to be fraud, so stayed on the line to get as much dirt on them as I could. After I completed the "survey," I was told that the trip involved some "gratuities" and other costs, and that I would be immediately connected to a "travel specialist." Of course,the line went dead--I called back, took the "survey" again, and again the phone went dead. Report these people to the FTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T choose the "Do Not Call" option on the FTC complaint site--choose one of the fraud-related options instead. Technically, surveys are excluded from the Do Not Call Prohibitions, but promising a free vacation to the Bahamas and not delivering it is FRAUD! SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
Something to consider: area code 914 includes Ossining, NY. Ossining is home to Sing Sing State Prison. Maybe some "guests" of the state are dong this.More important, perhaps...when I determine a caller is not acceptable I simply block the number. Lately, instead of blocking I now forward such numbers to another number that I know is some kind of scam.
You can report the guys to ICE which is a department of the FBI. They handle fraud and ID theft. You guys might want to check them out.
Called but I was busy so I let it go to voicemail, they hung up. Thanks for reporting this, glad I didn't stop what I was doing to answer. I saved the number under SCAM - 97 in my phonebook. I'll know who it is next time they call.

just got a call from 888-431-7820. Told me I was breach of contract. Very hard to understand the lady. I dont have a contract with anyone that I know of. When I look to see the number call it tells me Claim Services.

Won’t give up I never answer but they keep dialing it up. Irritating, say it’s debt collection and city says Dallas.
