Just got a call as well. Was on the line with a buddy in DC, asked him if he recognized the number, because my phone (samsung IP-830) said call was from DC. He said no. Didn't answer, looked it up here when I was done. Maybe the call is spoofing coming from Oklahoma (think I saw that on here somewhere), but is really coming from DC? Just a thought.
I'm getting this one too, from 2 different numbers same M.O. with the car warranty. I don't how they have my number not even sure if they know to ask for me by name since it's autodialer. here's the thing guys, my car is a 2000 and I bought it slightly used so the warranty has been gone forever so these guys only know what you tell them so quit answering their questions and feeding them your information. The other number calling about this is 615-653-7877
Yes I got the same call. Just some one trying to sell "Vehicle Warranty"I just hung it up. It is my phone I can do it if I want too.
I missed a call from this number today at 10:03 AM. I ignored it, but the funny thing is: I was in class for high school, I don't even own a car. Another odd coincidence: my friend was called by the same guy moments before I was called in the same class. Haha.I have no other useful input to this investigation, just a silly story of another victim. Oh yes, both of us live in soCal, but this caller is from Oklahoma?
Happing again. Seems to come every two weeks to my cell. I'd block the number but verizon doesn't have that option on a cell. 5/19/08 - 1:04 PM trying to SCAM/PISH info claiming to sell warranty. It must be working or they wouldn't keep doing it.
IF you put your cell phone number on the do not call list that list is available, for a fee, to just about everyone. Therefore, even the criminals can get that list. The good thing about the do not call list is reputable telemarketers don't call. The bad thing, criminals/charities/etc. now have a huge list of known good working numbers. That's one way how your number may have been gotton. These people are also probably overseas or at least outside the U.S. and therefore can not be easily caught or easily stopped if caught. Better yet, we need to force cell phone companies to allow us to block numbers from calling us (something they say is too difficult to do).
Got another call from these d-bags at 2:09 EST today. They've called me several times lately. Today was the first time I tried to answer but no one was there.
