Call is from Etech, Inc. guy asked bout phone service for the business at his number. I told them there was no such business. I called the number back tried the ext 2355 as stated in other posts and that ext. isn't working but was told to press 4 to be taken off their lists. I pressed 4
For about 2 weeks now I have been receiving a Texas call from 936-671-7866. I usually do not answer because I do not know anyone in Texas. I answered once and noone said anything. I used *87 to trace the call and the message I got was the number was either wrong or not in service. This is just to alert you about another Texas area number.
A few times they have called me and when I ask them to remove me from their list they hang up. This time I asked for a supervisor and then asked him to remove me. He said they would place me on their list. His name was John. Hopefully it will stop.
So yeah, I work for etech. Yes, it's outsourcing for several companies, up to and including (are you ready for this?):AT&TVerizonXM RadioCox CommunicationsDeVry collegeLetourneu collegeKeller UniversitySattelite broadband Internet with Wild Blue...just to name a few. They say "calling on behalf of" because guess what? They are doing just that! Amazing, huh?Like a previous poster said, they undergo all of the same training as "actual" company reps but for oh...roughly half the pay. And trust me, they know EXACTLY what day and time it is and probably don't want to be talking to you any more than you want to talk to them. There is an onshore and offshore location. I can only speak for onshore, but I work with those folks and most of them aren't trying to screw you. They are just trying to do their job in a small town without a lot of other options. Now, this one's for you ATT/Bellsouth folks. I know you are on the national DNC list and that's all well and good. But if you have ATT now, have had ATT in the past 18 months, or have even just inquired about ATT in the past 6 months, you have what is referred to as an existing business relationship with that company. This supercedes the national DNC and gives us poor bums every legal right to call you (look up the term if you don't believe me). You DO have rights, though. Ask to be put on ETECH's DNC list. That'll take care of us.Then all you have to worry about are all of the OTHER companies that ATT outsources to.
Male caller with Indian accent representing AT&T. Since I am a customer, I called AT&T directly about a month ago and told them to stop the telemarketing calls. They did stop completely until yesterday. ETECH INC are currently the proxy scum they use to continue to harass their own customers.
I got several calls from them...so i called back on 936 559 2200.......And an ATT rep answered my call. I asked him to remove me from there list. My cell number is on the do not call list anyway.....so as my home # but i would block them there anyway
This guy called, and in VERY broken english told me that he was with what sounded like, AT&T, That he would be calling back on Wednesday , and that I was to answer the phone and wait 5 minutes then call him back. Like THAT will ever happen. PRESS 1 for ENGLISH.
