I got a call from Jeff Johnson today wanting my son. I asked who is calling and he spelled J-E-F-F J-O-H-N-S-O-N. I asked who he was from and he told me it was none of my business. He was extremely rude. I told him my son hasn't lived here in several years and he demanded I tell him how to get in touch with him. After several minutes of a heated exchange, I told him not to call here again. He said he will call every day until I gave him the information and then hung up.
This company has called my cell phone multiple times. I have repeatedly told them I am not the person they ask for.
These people call my home phone constantly. I choose not to have voicemail so the phone rings and rings. I can imagine their frustration! :) One thing I've done that's been successful in the past to thwart some of these calls is when I know their calling, I'll answer and immediately tell them that the call is being recorded for quality assurance. They'll usually hang up, or be very nice. It also helps that every call IS being recorded on my computer for business purposes so if they ever do violate laws, It's time stamped with the caller I.D. plus what they've said.
Person kept calling me several times in one night; he kept asking for someone who does not live at my address; he then starting very personal questions, laughing, and being very inappropriate.
I started recieving calls at work about 6 months ago and they were vicious and very very rude. I spoke to a guy that screamed and called me names and a actually made me cry at work. it was so embarassing and my reasons for not taking care of the debt was for medical reasons and hard times. so after going back and foward with this dude, I hung up on him and get a guy named eric and he was very nice and I set up arrangements and just finished paying them off this month. and my payments were 50 bucks a month!! I am just glad it is over
These people have called and threaten myself as well as my mother. They will call me min. of three times a day and speak with me at least twice a day. They threaten lawsuit, arrest, reposseion anything they can to strong arm PAYMENTS on something that is 7 years old and has been paid since 2002. Of course they are not showing any paper work to that effect and the people are out of business that was owed. These people are NASTY, they LIE and LIE AGAIN AND AGAIN about payments, about who you owe that they are collecting for only straight answer you get from them is YOU OWE US MONEY!!! The guy that makes references to DEADBEATS, is apparently someone from their offices and is an a....... hole himself. He doesn't know each of the circumstances and how nasty these people are.
I had the same issue with 'Ellie'. I received a telephone call from one of my employees (I am the HR Manager at a company) and the employee was calling me to beg me NOT to garnish his wages. I told him that I had no idea what he was referring to - that I have nothing ordering me to garnish his wages for any reason...and that if I did receive anything, it would have to be a court order, and he would be supplied with the same documentation. He recounted a conversation today with 'Alex', who told him that he had just gotten off of the phone with ME and that I had accepted the garnishment request that CPC made and that I was going to take the debt straight out of the employee's pay! 'Alex' told him that he could 'save' him from that garnishment if my employee would make payment in full right then, over the phone. 1. I never received a phone call, voicemail, email or letter from 'Alex' or ANY representative of CPC. 2. I would have never agreed to such a conversation, much less agreed to garnish an employee's wages. IN FACT, I would have officially notified him that as the employer, we forbid collection activities on our premises or through phone/electronic means at work.I called CPC and spoke to 'Ellie'. I explained the situation, that I was an employer and that I needed to speak with someone regarding a concern I had with a collection attempt. She wanted the telephone number, and I gave it to her. She told me she had removed it from their system, and I asked her to transfer me to a supervisor who could discuss the fradulent use of my name and position in an attempt to coerce an employee into making payment, which the employee had already disputed! She told me that I had no right to make any complaints, because the debt had nothing to do with me. (I politely disagreed, because their company was attempting to use MY name and MY standing within the company to harass and coerce an employee into making payment). I am relatively familiar with fair debt collection practices, and this company does NOT follow them.
I just received another call from these people. It was for another family. He kindly said he would take my number out of the databasa. We'll see what happens.
This number shows up on my caller id quite frequently, the message left on voice mail is to call 800-865-9745 and ask for Patricia. "This is important that you call" Patricia says, no identification or indication of why she is calling. The person who Patricia is leaving a message for is not familiar at all. At one point I answered the phone listened to an automated voice giving options on what # to dial for different scenarios, one of them being "If you are notdial 8", I did dial 8 and was connected to a man who was very mean. I couldn't understand what he said when he picked up, I said "you are trying to reach a and he does not live here". This man began yelling at me very rudely stating "YEAH, BUT YOU KNOW HIM DON'T YOU?!" I said "No. Who is this?" He then hung up on me. HOW DOES ONE GET OFF THEIR LIST? I have no idea who they are trying to reach, and have nothing to offer.
