They call frequently and whenever I return the call (they call from different numbers) it just says, "to be placed on a do-not-call list, press 1 now". I never get a live person and if I press "1" they just call from another number.
Recording: "This is Howard with the loan dept. Congratulations..." Hung up. Company was not identified.
I've tested this repeatedly and I always get these harrassment calls the day after orbot is used or any app that re-routes my ip address on my smart phone. It's quite predictable. Numbers received so far: 458-201-1445, 458-201-1419, 541-257-1569, 262-298-8151, 505-982-8520, 979-320-9017, 804-843-6509, 303-489-4730, 918-275-8654, and others. Likely your tax dollars at work to harrass citizens and something Edward Snowden knows all about.

Re: "You can call the number back and it gives you the option to be put on the do not call list..." NO!! Never ever call the number back; this merely tells the telemarketer that your line is valid. If they had any intention of abiding by legal restrictions -- like the "do not call" list -- they wouldn't have called in the first place. Your best bet is to do nothing, and to block the call if your phone/phone system allows. Reporting to the FCC is also a reasonable idea, but they are overwhelmed, underfunded, and have no real means to go after telemarketers who spoof the Caller ID.Write a letter to your congressional representatives and tell them that you want Caller ID spoofing to be made illegal.

Got a call from 979-320-9017 on 2/9/2015 at 4:45 p.m. No message left. Caller identified as "Money for your business" by YouMail. I've added the number to phone's reject list and YouMail's "ditch" list. I'm reporting the number to the "Do not call" registry. Stupid spammers.

The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
