Received at 3:55 pm. The caller informed me that my computer was receiving harmful messages whenever me or somebody in my family used the internet. She stated that the purpose of the call was to inform me of these messages. I hung up at that point. I had a very difficult time understanding the caller and she seemed to be having a difficult time reading her script. I think it's a scam.

Whatever you do, do not give them access to your computer through the internet!!!I played along for a bit to see their intent (with internet access disconnected) First they want you to pull up the event viewer through the root directory (even after i explained it can be done without going to root) Eventually after being passed around due to constant language barrier issues (they all sound from the southeast asia to india region), the last one tried to get me to go back to the root so they could tie into computer and "fix it" lol. After i explained the first thing i did when they claimed to be from microsoft was disconnect my cable connection and was planning to track number, he hung up quickly. This number may not exist much longer.

Similar message, except it was a man, and he had an accent. I hung up before he got too far in the script.

Caller identified himself from Tech Helpline supporting Windows and MacIntosh worldwide. Advised a problem with the internal layer of my computer. My computer was generating messages and reporting them to the management console. I asked him what was the MAC address of the computing with the issue and was informed he did not have the information. He was tech support globally for Windows and MacIntosh and the problem existed on all computers. I asked for the instructions and was advised he needed to help me because configurations different on all computers. I refused to get on my computer but again asked for instructions. Finally, I advised I was an IT Security specialist and told him I would just contact my CERT team. I asked the URL reference where problem/instructions could be found. No URL because they needed to walk me through the process. Again, I asked for instructions but the caller advised I did not need his help because I was an IT expert. I said, then you don't mind I report your phone number. He hung up. I would deem the call type as one with malicious intend to do damage to your computer or collect personal information about you.

They just called me claiming to be from an IT dept and wanted to know if I was the main user the home computer. I told them that I didn't know what they were talking about nor do I know where they are calling from and that they just better just hang up. Then, I hung up.

985-564-0064 Called claiming to be with tech helpline that an unusual amount of data was being generating errors. I told him my computer was working fine, what was the purpose of the call. He repeated the lies, mentioning facebook, I asked if he was with facebook, he said no, then put some else on the phone that mentioned windows, so I asked if he was with Microsoft, he said not then hung up. They kept asking for me to follow a procedure presumably to allow them access to my computer. Scam attempt.

Got a call here at the law office. Man with an accent told me he was calling from PC Speedy with a warning message. I played along with him pretending to I was fully invested in his spiel....until he asked me to start using the ctrl key (actually spoken as CTRL, not control) when I told him I googled his number and found he was a scam.

I told him that he was one of the criminals my local tv station was talking about. I then pushed the blacklist button on my call blocker. They will have to hijack a different number for next time. Don't let them get to your computer!!
