999-999-9999 / 9999999999

I've been receiving a call which displays on my cell phone screen as UNKNOWN everyday for about 2 weeks that I know of. When it first started happening, I anweredmy cell phone and said Hello. As soon as I answered, I heard a Click and the person hung up. Based on this, I can assume it's not a telemarketer trying to sell me something. The UNKNOWN caller hung up everytime. Then I stopped answering my cellphone when I saw the display UNKNOWN. I called my cellphone carrier to ask who was calling and hanging up when I answered. They said the call was not on long enough to even register in their logs. The customer service person for my cellphone company suggested I go to the website ***** and use their service to unblock the incoming UNKNOWN call and find out whose calling me. So I did. The service is called a Bear Trap and they charge $24.95 per month to unblock calls so you can find the true caller id. The UNKNOWN call came in and the Bear Trap log showed the call as WWWW 999-999-9999 So, this is where I found the number 999-999-999So the Bear Trap did not work and I cancelled the service. Apparently, the Bear Trap only unmasks blocked or restricted calls not UNKNOWN calls. I did some more research online and I found the UNKNOWN call which shows a caller id as WWWW 999-999-9999 is most likely from someone that is using a software application which changes their caller id to whatever they want it to show or it's a call coming from a computer. I do know that it's not a Skype call because I have Skype and I tested it to see what the caller id would display for a Skype call and it was NO WWWW 999-999-9999.

It's a blocked call period.........It can be someone calling that is not suppose to be calling from a bill collector to anyone that wants to block a number.

Repeated calls from this number to my LAN line. They always hang up.

Called 4 times starting at 2:49 am to 11:06 am on my company cell phone. I did not answer, and they did not leave a message.

hey linda, i have had several restricted call, which i never answer. when checking my bill after the fact the number 9999999999 always shows at the time the calls were made. to me it's obviously represents a restricted call.

This is a blocked number from someone/anyone who knows how to block their number before they call you, but they do not want you to know their number. I just talked to Verizon about it, and that is what they explained to me.

Well I got these call three times today. It is to my house phone and I don't have Verizon. I will answer the next time they call and let you know what they say.

Got a call.....at 4:21 pm, 7/13/07.....tried to call back twice but nothing....wish i knew what that was about

I have this problem on my husband's phone also. The bill shows the 999 number and when I look at his phone for "all calls" its not there. In fact the whole days worth of calls is gone. I think he gets the call and deletes it. That's why the 999 shows up on the bill and the call is no longer on his phone.

My fiance has been getting incoming calls for months under the 999-999-9999. Girls wise up. Check to see who the numbers before and after are. Don't be surprised if it you before and after the mysterious 999 call. This is the case for me all the time. He says its verizon calling him but not at 3:00 pm and 9:15pm same day. I was unreachable for most of today. So after no answer from me, calll from 999 came in 5 times. Its a hidden number on purpose. I will crack it girls and give the cracking secret so we will have better knowlege than we get credit for. I will also give you a wsy to locate person at time of calls. I break alot of hidden info but haven't tried this to full extent. But it does give lad. & long. So I will have the secret tomorrow. Guys get smart and stop hiding wether a collector,salesman, or cheater. No secret can stay safe once we learn the code.
