Attn:To whom this may concern:07/20/2015ET of Call: 2:27 PM EDTI had received a phone call from this scammer hotline, illusive number, and the person on the other end spoke with a heavy foreigner's accent, stating he/she had fixed a computer for me, and when I had questioned or inquired when have you fixed a computer for me, they froze up, got confused and hurried up and hung up the phone on their end. No sooner after the call had ended, they redialed my number and when I saw the suspicious number again appearing on my phone, I bothered not to answer it. So, if this helps anyone in the future receiving these types of calls, pay close attention to what he/she is saying on the other end. Whoever this may be is trying to scam you out of some money of some sort, and please report all that you know of the person on this page. Do it as soon as you get the chance while what was said is still fresh in your mind.
This 9999999999 is calling my wife everyday several times a day only when im at work and she she dosent know anything about .
Calls started on landline a few days ago. CID showed "out of area" so I finally picked up and said stop calling. Very rude man with slight accent said I probably needed Ritalin for ADHD and he would send me some for free. Last night was the worst. Called 5 times in less than an hour. Out of Area, Private Caller, Out of Area, 999-999-9999 and then 000-000-0000. Might be election related since my phone rings constantly these days with negative campaign ads but now the calls keep up past 10PM. I finally set up my phone to not ring while I am at home. If calls are coming from outside US there is nothing you can do but turn off your ringer and let legitimate callers leave VM. Similar problem w/cell phone that started when I switched carriers. Law enforcement says they they are not interested in tracking down these scam artists. Maybe we should all stop paying taxes until they decide to do their jobs. If people outside of the US are doing this and refuse to stop unless you give them money then that is a crime - it is called extortion.
It doesn't make a difference what phone service you are using or if it's a cell or land line. 999-999-9999 can be anyone. Many businesses use this as a display number to get past call blockers, while hiding their own information. I have AT&T land line. I asked them to block this specific number. If this is truly a business that I do business with or wants my business, then they should have no reason to block their number from showing on my phone. Any business that uses this type of business practice is obviously shady.
Same situation this number is calling my wife everyday with conversations lasting 5min up to an hour, trying to figure out who it is but its hard to do and she says she don't know anything about it..
Said she was with the Tea Party. Wanted to ask questions about the Ohio Primary Election on May 6th. First question was if I was going to vote in the Primary. I told her No...she thanked me for my time and hung up. I normally would not answer a call from 999-999-9999 but the number called 5 times yesterday and 3 times today. I do plan to vote May 6 but I hope by telling her No, the calls will stop.
