I got a call this morning from 112-161-1611. I was informed the call may be monitored for quality control reasons. The man on the other end knew my name, asked me if that was me, and then said my son had used me as a reference. He asked if I could tell him how to reach him or give him a phone number to call. He didn't say what company he was with or why he wanted to contact my son. I immediately became suspicious, so I told him I had no way to contact my son and hadn't talked to him in a long time. He asked if my son was working anywhere or if he was looking for work. At any rate, I told him I couldn't help him in any way and he said he would remove me as a reference for my son. When I tried to text my son about the call the message went to the 112 number with an error message.

Same exact thing happening to me. My husband texted and it showed an additional 1 in front of his number, but when I text him back, I get the message from this number saying invalid number...blah blah blah....This is my work cell, how the heck does this happen?

Mine keeps adding two 1's before everyone in my contact list then i get same error message except with additional 1 in beginning of number

I've been getting this message too, but it's only after I send a message to some of the spam numbers that call my cell. I don't get it without sending, or trying to send a message though. The numbers I tried to send the massages to were not valid numbers, on was 111111111 and the other was an 800 number that was dialed with the 1 in front of it (11 digits). I just figured it was a standard error message.
