this is nuts. 123-456-7890 calls a few time a yr. same voice (sounds like from india) says calling regarding the computer having problems. I say 'I am on the do not call list - do not call this number again!' a question to everyone who get these calls have purchased/downloaded - tuneup utilities - on their computer, if so, this may be the culprit & problem of the calls.
This number called me this morning asking for my parents and my mom picked up on the other line so i hung up but when she got off she told me not to answer that number again. she said she heard about this before. but anyways the guy was asking stuff about our phone like if we have caller Id or what not and he also mentioned something about airmailes and named his company but apparently he was talking so fast my mom didn't catch it.
The woman from this number called my mother twice during my visit with her. The first time, she did not identify who she was, she simply said our computer had downloaded viruses and said she could help fix it. I found it funny she did not say where she was calling from - I could barely understand her and hung up on her. She called again a few days later talking about windows. I asked where she was calling from. She started telling me what windows was and how to operate it...I hung up and performed a call trace through our service provider. The second time I answered the call, there was a delay, some weird noises and the connection was very poor. She has not called back to my knowledge.
I've received these spam calls as well: the fact that the scammers could make our caller ID read "123-456-7890" or even your own telephone number calling you, is proof that that they have control over the telephone system (at least land lines), and the dumb [***] phone company is too cheap, lazy or stupid to do anything about it. After reporting to the FCC website a few times, AT&T finally called me and offered to change my phone number for free, but told me it would not end these unwanted calls. Big deal.
This number called the night before last, 9:46pm1:48am11/05then the following night,10:15pm1:47am3:04am11/06I suspect it's someone calling from outside the country and being intercepted by homeland security or like organization. They were more frequent these two days then ever before.
:D These guys are such big trolls..They call u and ask u random questions and after that when u say something they hang up.. Freakin idiots..
called by 604-210-6649 number tonight. looked up this number and a notice says that this number may be "spoofed". Could someone explain this to me. None of us here answer any calls we do not know the number of so we did not answer this one either. Please let me know what this type of call means.

Over the last 2 weeks I have received about 6 calls from 123-456-7890. A few times they called and the number shows as unknown number. It is always a male with a heavy East Indian accent and they say they are calling from Windows because my computer is dumping alot of windows files and they ask me to go to my computer so they can help me fix it. The first time they called I asked how they got my number and when I persisted they hung up. THey called abck an hour later and this time I told them I have a mac and do not use windows, they hung up again. This morning they called and told me they were calling from BC Tel about my windows platform and asked if I woulod go to my computer. They obviously don't know that BC Tel changed their name to Telus years ago. Told him there is no such company and hung up. THey called again (this time number shows unknown). I tiold him if he calls again, I will call the police. He replied "fu*k off boy" and hung up. These people appear to be trying to get some information out of me.
Best place for you to begin is at the beginning. Do a web search on "wiki, caller ID spoofing". Good reading. Also educate yourself on area codes in North America that do not exist (000 to 199) Caribbean area codes (eg: 876). Plus learn of fake prefix numbers. (555) xxx-1234, the 'xxx' is the prefix. In North America NO prefix starts with a 'zero' or a 'one'.
