I got this call too. I said hello, waited, then hung up. I HATE THESE CALLS !!!!! June 5, 2008 12:27PM

Got two calls within the last half hour (11:30 am to noon) from 123-456-7890. Did not pick up. I will report them as I am on the Do Not Call List.

Same thing with me, they call me around 7:40am, when I answer, I get some guy that sounds like he is from India. He started asking me about my computer so I just hung up on him. They called again this morning and when I answered, no one was there, so I hung up. I see that 1-123-456-7890 has called me 5 times.

They phoned about 5 or more times in the past month and we never answered till today and no one said anything after I said hello

they have been calling me all day, even after I told them to remove me from the list. i try to curse them out and they hang up on me lol

Started to receive these calls too from that "123-456-7890". Looked extremely odd on my call id. SO...I have yet to pick up. With looking up this number on this website, I WON'T be picking up to answer. Had to warn my kids NOT to pick up the phone and let the answer machine get it. This is the second crank # that has plagued us in the past 2 months. Don't these people have anything else to do? - Get a life, everyone else has one!

Caller ID registers 11 calls in 8 days, including this morning. I answered today and caller claimed to be working for "Tobacco Free Kids". He said he's working to raise awareness for tobacco legislation in Georgia. When I asked about the Caller ID being cryptic, he claimed that there was no conspiracy and that he just started working there with no knowledge of Caller ID issue. He was polite though even when I declined to continue the conversation.

got this call today from 123-456-7890 i answered and no one was on the other line so i hung up, this is the second time i have received this call next time they call i am just simply going to say [***] OFF!! because fake phone numbers really have been pissing me off lately

My business used to get this call all the time, they claimed they were with the local yellow pages and needed to verify our information. They would call every 20 minutes, and only every few times would someone on the other end answer instead of hanging up. Finally we decided to verify the business name and address, then they wanted the owner's SSN. I asked for the supervisor and told him that we are on the do not call list and if he called again I would report them. Now, they barely call, and when they do I ask for the "supervisor".

When the dialer makes the call, and you pick up the phone, this triggers the software to bring up the information associated with the phone number. If the info does not completely match, it defaults to the 'odd number' appearing on your phone lcd. the reason no real person is on the phone when you pick up is due to the time it takes to locate a free phone agent back in the call center. in rare cases the call is not sales.
