I got a spam text saying to call this number about my PenFed account asking to call 1-844-369-8878.I do not have an account there and have never had one.

I received two texts. The first text from 1410200501 and the second from 1401200502. I did not open them. How do I protect myself from these hackers? The first text said it was from PREFER and the second from INVEST. I knew it was bogus but I don't know who to report it to or how. I Googled the number and was directed to this site. How can I protect my phone?

I got a text to from this number also, saying that something was wrong with my American express card, and a link. But I do not have an American express Card. But I have been reading about these type of messages and, the only reason they send them is to see if you are a real person. So once you click on the link, it confirmed that you are real. And they will start sending you more and more spam. So I wouldn't look at anything, unless you look it up first. And do not text them or call them either. That's another way they check if you are really there. You can also report it to your phone company. Most phone companies have filters. So if you report it they can add that number. The message said "You need to read and accept our new regulations" I clicked the link (I know. Not a great idea) and it brought me to a page that looked like facebook and said "Dear user, your Facebook account must be confirmed today in order to avoid disabling! This process is quick and must be done by all of our users as an extra security measure. If you fail to confirm your account today it will be limited and then disabled!" Underneath that was a place to click that read "Confirm your Identity now" Has anyone received a similar message from this number?

Just got one from them saying they were PayPal and to visit my personal link to unlock my account. I DONT THINK SO!! I hate these scammers

got a text saying to follow the link to unlock my paypal account. logged into paypal on my computer in a new browser and nothing was wrong with it. assumed it was phishing trying to get my info. added to my call/text blocking
