Got a call from man with heavy accent he told me to verify my computer ID and I ask him if he had a jar of vasaline beside him. He hung up.
Yet another scam operation, pretending to want to "fix" my computer. Their intention is to talk me through giving them remote control of my PC, so they can steal my credit card number, blackmail me into continued payments (lest they wipe my files), and get me to pay them to do it!N.B.: Anyone who calls you, from any number, and claiming to be from Micro$oft, and offering to fix your PC, is lying. Save yourself money and heartache; hang up immediately.
This guy had such a heavy accent that I could hardly understand him. He got very frustrated at me, telling me that he was with World Wide Web, my computer had been hacked, and he was going to tell me how to allow him to have access to my computer to block the virus. He said he would shut my computer down if I didn't do exactly as he said. I asked him if he thought I'd had an extra large bowl of stupid for breakfast this morning. He hung on me. Imagine that.
I got a call from this number and the caller rudely abd repeatedly called back until I blocked the number.

It is a legit PNC Bank phone no. I wrote out a $12000. check and they called to verify and had the last 3 digits of checking acct. on message.
