Robo Call - pitching security systems

Got a call from this number and started with a recorded message saying: "The FBI reports a home break-in every 15 minutes, the local police recommend a home security system" bla bla bla.. and then it said they'd give me a free home security system just for putting a sign in my yard. This is such SPAM. How do we stop this caller from continuing to do this? There are over 100 complaints on this site alone about this # SPAMMING people. There are probably thousands of others who haven't even posted about this.

I got a call from this number and they said they were a security alarm company. Because I work for an alarm company myself I was curious. So I pressed "1" for them to give me more information. I got a follow up call 5 minutes later that I missed because I was on another call. (the second number is (202) 803-4977) This number also has a record of being a part of the car insurance scam.

As a follow up to this. I do want to say that the information provided about the FBI reporting the number of break ins is factual. My company even gives the same promotion at times (with a monthly fee, installation, equipment and set us costs are waived). So this is what made me more curious.

After just two weeks I've finally managed to get rid of numerous daily scam callers by leaving my Verizon provider and switching my landline number to "Vonage" and then creating a "Google" voice account that forwards my landline number to a new "Google" voice number where I can easily block unwanted calls as well as place numbers in spam. All has been quiet and the scam calls don't even show up on my secondary "Google" number. I can even receive voice messages from my landline, when away from home while the "do not disturb" feature was on at home, so that I didn't miss important calls. All has been quiet up until today when this new number dialed my wife's cell phone, never leaving a recording. In all the years my wife has owned her current cell phone number this was the first day her phone was hit with an area code (202) D.C. area code scam call.

i just got the call for a free home alarm system from 202-888-6297 with an option to press 1 for more info. Since they got a "do not call" line I pressed 1. They called back from 202-803-4979 and said the comany was Home Protective Services. I told them I was reporting them for calling a do not call number and they said I should have hit the prompt to be removed from their calling system.

Got a call from them on my cell at 1:24 PM Voice message was silent, lasting two seconds long

I got this call here in Idaho. They gave some break-in stat from the FBI and then offered to put a sign in my yard. The scary part is that the phone answered itself and was put on speaker.

Got call on my cell. I never answered it. Feel it's a scam! Left message saying Do not call list.
