These people have been calling me all week, and we just haven't been answering the phone, but today I answered it "Dominos pizza". The lady said, "Oh I'm sorry, I have the wrong number". It was a great feeling.
These people are just conducting a poll. Please answer their questions. When you see these polls referenced on television and you wonder, "Is the country really so stupid that John McCain actually has a chance?" it's because smart people aren't taking the time to let their opinion known.
I have received 2 calls from this number. It has to do with a survey of what is going on in the news. The person tells you that your phone number is picked ramdonly from the system.
Yes, the Quinnipiac Poll IS real.If you don't want to be called... ANSWER. There isn't any pressure to take the survey, just say "NO" and you'll be put on our do-not-call list (we don't have a call list, numbers are randomly generated by a computer - if you answered your phone we'd inform you of this). As amusing as Tom Mabe is, using his style to answer our calls is as original as telling knock-knock jokes. So is "just going out the door", "have company", and "right in the middle of something". So, seriously, if you want the school to stop calling (which it will in a week or less, fyi) take my advice and ANSWER and simply say "not interested". Don't say "call back later" unless you want someone to call back. We don't want to bother you or waste your time any more than you do. The next time you get called in the middle of a meal, just say so - no need to be a jerk. If you're presently engaged in an important activity, why would you answer the phone to an unknown phone number anyway? Trust me, when you're yelling about dinner or going to bed early, we're wishing we were doing the same thing.
The do-not-call list applies only to telemarketers, as they are selling something. QU's poll only seeks those who wish to give their opinions. As mentioned in other posts, the numbers are randomly generated through a computer. We don't ever know who, where, or what we're calling (aside from a specific state).Good idea to email - either do that, call, or answer - my employers are more than happy to eliminate disinterested people from our database.
