Got a call, left a message, got 2 more calls in a row immediately after I didn't answer. Said they were with amazon and verifying a purchase. I called back - they were requesting information to 'verify' a purchase. This information would not be asked for by Amazon. They even asked me if I had an Amazon account. Didn't give them any info, immediately hung up. They called right back - I blocked the number.Checked my credit card immediately. Two fraudulent charges pending from yesterday. One test charge for $1 for a Mexico based cab company, and an unknown $95 charge through Amazon marketplace payments. Called my credit card fraud department right away.
I just received three missed calls from this number after numerous fraudulent credit card changes were found on our card this morning. Glad I google searched the number and found this. This number must be connected to the fraud. Our credit card company caught the fraud charges because of an address mismatch which is why the criminals are probably trying to verify an address.
Just got called by this number .. I did not answer . I called Amazon they stated it was not Amazon then instructed me to change my password . They said they would monitor my account .. This is an ABSOLUTE scam .. DO NOT answer when called by this number (206)508-4014 !! Check your credit card transactions daily ..
Received a phone call just a few minutes ago - about 9:30 p.m. - from 206-508-4014. Man with Middle Eastern accent asked for another household member. Sounded like a telemarketer to me, and I told him so and that he wasn't supposed to call after 9 p.m. He said he was with Amazon and needed to verify an order. I just hung up on him. He was hesitant in his speech and did not sound professional at all.
Got a call from this number today. Identified on the phone as Amazon. Wife took the call as I was not home. The Amazon account is in my name with no reference to her. Caller asked for me but I wasn't home so she proceeded to quiz my wife for information. Wanted her to verify the last numbers of the credit card which she refused to do.Not being the cardholder she shouldn't even be asked that. The caller got into a bit of panic and insisited that this had to be done now. My wife stood her ground and said they would have to call back when I returned home. Theyu wouild not give a call back number. When I returned home I immediately Googled the phone number and foind this site. I also checked my credit card info online and all appeared to be correct. As a precaution I called the credit card company to verify if any purchases had been attempted. They said not but as a precaution I cancelled the card and asked for a new one. I then contacted Amazon and was told that no fraudulent attempts had been made to purchase on my account. I also asked him to verify the phone number and was advised that the number is NOT an Amazon number. Interesting thing is that the scammer number was identified as Amazon on my phone but when Amazon actually called me the ID only said Washington which is typical of calls from the USA to Canada. So after doing all that the scammer did actually call back. Tried the same trick with me. Wanted me to verify and she mentioned a @hotmail email address which I don't have and she said the last two numbers of my credit card were 60 and they are not. When I asked he to repeat the info she refused. They talk very fast and are quick with the reply. Very slick. I told her she was going to hell for stealing and hung up.There seems to be a bit of conflicting information in this thread with some saying the number is legit. I am convinced it isn't and would urge you to take precautions to avoid being scammed by these bottom dwellers. Amazon told me that they do not make such calls.
I received a call from this number from a woman with Middle Eastern accent claiming to be with Amazon com. I told her I could not understand who she was saying who she was with and finally understood Amazon.com. She asked if I ordered gift cards from Amazon with a credit card ending in 66. I told her NO she then hung up....suspicious.
I've been receiving these phone calls as well. Just thought it was tell a marketing so I would ignore them. Well, then the fraudulent charges showed up! I am EXTREMELY upset with Amazon for this. They show have better security measures! This happened twice to us and we couldn't figure out how for the life of us, but know I know!
I received a call from this number, hey asked my identification by name, I asked what the call was in regards to. They asked if I purchased an HDMI cord, I said yes, and I asked them why, then I became a little paranoid, they also had the information of some other big item purchases that I had made within the last half hour and he listed them all off, he asked me if my address was accurate, he gave it to me, didn't ask anything about my credit card, then told me it was to verify the order, I called my cc company, they said they ahd a fraud alert for the cord, the cs rep for my card said there didn't appear to be any suspicious activity, there was a 1$ charge for Prime, I'm assuming it is because I accepted the Prime trial and then canceled it right away. There was no request for personal information. But after reading the stuff on this site I got super paranoid. Now I feel a little better because I know my cc company has my back. plus I pretty much maxed out the one card so there isn't much room for fraud, happy holidays everyone. I'll follow up next Thursday after my last package is scheduled to arrive.
