Received a voicemail form this number - Seattle, WAMale with thick Indian accent asking to verify purchases of $1029 and said I'd receive another call.Did not make any purchases of that amount.Watch out for scams!
Caller with think Indian accent claimed to be with Amazon, but asked so many phishing questions that he clearly was not with Amazon. He wanted to know if I recently placed an order with Amazon, what it was, if I had ordered any video games, and what was my address. Clearly a phishing attempt. I hung up, and called the real Amazon customer service, who confirmed the scamster at 206-508-4014 was not with Amazon.
Why does "Amazon Fraud Protection" have a seattle and an Indian number? makes no sense. they want to verify certain aspects of your account in order to scam you. They target people who make large orders because their large order will overshadow the fraudulent purchases.. It really is the perfect scam if you ask me. Using the fear of being scammed to scam other people.... stay safe folks
I received a call this morning and at the exact same time as the phone call, I had 5 fraudulent charges on my bank account from Amazon. I hadn't picked up the phone and got a voicemail from whoever (it was muffled voices). Something told me to check my bank account and there it was all the charges! $150 dollars worth of gift cards were bought.
This number called twice shortly after an Amazon purchase and didn't leave a message.
I recieved a call from a woman with an Eastern Indian accent about 5 minutes after purchasing my samsung TV, asking for my address and the item I purchased via my Amazon mobile app. I figured this may be legitamate as Amazon is global and likely hires agents to verify pruchases especially on black friday, so I gave her my address and item type. I didn't really think that anyone could do anything malicious with that information, but after reading the other comments here, I'm going to be extra vigilant. Hopefully, signing up with Trusted ID after the Exquifax breach will actuallt be worth it now, instead of just pestering me when I sign into my google account on a VPN!
Called a third time asking to confirm name and item purchased and last few numbers of card used.
I got a call from this number this morning. They claimed to be from Amazon and said there was a suspicious charge on my credit card ending in ####. I think he was asking to cancel the order...It was hard to understand him because of his accent. I hung up the phone and emailed Amazon. I'm waiting to hear back from them.
