got a call from these folks like the others above and the automated machine was asking about having a small dog? Make you wonder if someone is watching you..okay not that paranoid, but who the heck knows these days. The caller shows up as Coeur D Alen in addition to the number. This kind of stuff ought to be outlawed and forbidden. Peace to you All

SMALL DOG SURVEY THEORY: You may recall (during the election cycle of 2008) receiving robo calls that when you answered, said "sorry, wrong number" and hung up. You scratched your head and wondered how an automated machine could dial a number and then determine that it was incorrect. That's impossible!The system that is making the calls is designed to leave political messages on answering machines only, not with humans. I suspect this is the 2010 election cycle version of the same tactic except they are attempting to "scrub" their phone lists now (rather than closer to November). This will allow them to call only "answering machine" answered phones and not waste their time and money calling "human answered" phones. By answering the phone and saying "hello", you may be reducing the chances of receiving automated messages as we get closer to the election (but don't hold your breath).Although the costs of making calls is very low, auto dialers can only make so many calls per hour and scrubbing the lists now will allow them to be more productive (and offer lower costs to their clients).

Caller ID P30PLE RSPNZ I did not answer, they left some noise on voicemail, but no message. Area code is in Idaho.

caller ID said name of : COEUR D ALAN ID number 208 758 0218 left a message that was a cut off recording that said something about a small dog...only lasted about 3 seconds..... i got a friend that said new tactic of debt collectors is to use a neighbors name or some other 'bait' to get you to call back then they know your number is good and they keep calling back because you let them know where you are..... i say you don't provide a caller id and a name or a legible message, then you call is not important enough to me to bother but deleting it.

These people haven't given up--four calls since yesterday morning, including two back-to-back yesterday afternoon. I don't pick up for unfamiliar numbers, ever, but they sometimes leave a robotic voicemail that says, "This is a public survey call. We may call back later."Since this is a cellphone, they're costing me money. They can be fined for this, right?

Continue getting calls from the same number. I have not answered but they leave a message at least 2 times a day.

Same here on small dog question and when you call back to their number there is no ring.Would hate to think they use the response to drop or add you to some service/scam ???Rec'd call 8/22/10 at 1:38 PM / Houston,TX
