Don't you think it's possible that you are getting calls via a calling card from someone who has misdialed (or has been given a wrong number)? Calling cards are very popular with Hispanics, for example. And you would be surprised how many times someone (esp. someone who doesn't speak English) will keep trying when they obviously have the wrong number. This happens to me often enough with people calling from their private lines *without* calling cards.

First call comes in as "International" caller ID. Subsequent calls come in as "out of area" and all you hear is a fax handshake tone, then disconnects to static then lines drops. Got 8 calls within 15 minutes.Call the number back and you get "wait til your call is connected", get a minute or so of techno music then call drops.

I recieved the same call as those list below. I recieve this call +/- 5 times a week.

I recieve the call today from this number on my caller Id it has Internatioal and a spanish speaking person was on the other end.

TM...i know it's not because i have now received calls from the same number asking for me by name and asking personal information...it's easy to belittle a situation that isn't happening to you, and if you had actually read all of the oher entries you would see that lots of people have been scammed and f#@ked. if it's all so innocent i'm sure you won't mind giving me your phone number to give them so you can work it all out, right?

RECIEVED A CALL FROM A FRIEND IN BRASIL...IT WAS ALARMING BECAUSE THIS NUMBER REGISTERS AS A DALLAS NUMBER IN MY CELL...THE PERSON CALLING ME MIGHT HAVE BEEN USING A CALLING CARD OR SKYPE OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE. IM STILL UNSURE OF THE NUMBER ITSELF...DO TELECOM COs GENERATE RANDOM NUMBERS TO ASSIGN TO PREPAID CARDS OR INTERNET CALLING SERVICE??

This started happening to my husband's cell phone a few weeks back. Whoever is doing this called like 4 times or so within a short time period. It happened a few other times within the following days and seemed to subside (all was the month of June, though). This morning, our home phone rang at like 5am and came up as "ANONYMOUS", however, it was the same thing...someone speaking in a foreign language and not letting you get a word in edge-wise. AS SOON as my husband hung up, his cell phone rang with the SAME THING! And not just once..like 4 times in a very short time period. Around 730a, they called the house again. I called my husband (he had left for work by this time) to let him know, and he said that his cell phone rang JUST THEN, too, with them again. This is all anonymous now, but my hunch is it is the same stuff going on.It is now 847a, and we just got ANOTHER one at home. I picked up the phone and simply stated "If you do not stop calling here, I will file a complaint with the FBI". On the phone with my husband now, and he got one just before I did. What is so strange to me is how the calls are coming to home and then to the cell back to back. Is this coincidence or are these people tying the two together?

I received this call today from a foreigner asking to speak to my ex-husband. when I told them that he had never lived here or never had this number and where did they get my number, they hung up on me. I tried calling the number back an all I got was the same "trans music and a message saying "Please wait to be connected"....." I waited until the phone disconnected before I hung up.

This number just called me about 15 minutes ago. They called 4 times and it was a woman speaking spanish, but she didn't sound very fluent. When I called back it did the "please wait" thing and then crazy techno music. Does anyone know of a way to get this to stop??

I just got a call from 1-214-586-0999. Didn't answer it. No message left. Did not come up as International. I am on Verizon's network.
