I just got a call from the 865-6696 Unknown number. It was a woman whose English was very bad, and I could hear lots of shouting going on in the background. She told me I had been awarded a $7000 grant from the government (she didn't specify which government, lol), and she asked me if I wanted it in credit card, cash, or direct deposit. I said cash, and then she got angry and hung up. Definitely a phishing scam.
I keep getting calls from 865-6696 with no area code and they listen to the whole message but never leave one. They call about every 3-4 hours. I do not answer calls from "unknown" numbers and callers that do not leave a message do not get a call back. When I tried to return the unknown number to see who it was the 865-6696 number popped up with no area code. This is so annoying! It's hard to block the number with no area code....
I have an iphone from sprint in Austin and I have received 7 calls from 865-6696 TODAY. This number calls more than my mother! It calls daily and has been for several months. Has anyone come up with a fix for this?
I too have an iPhone and have been getting calls from this # with no area code for a week or so now. I finally answered and the guy asked if this was me. He knew my full name. I told him he had the wrong # and hung up. That was 30 minutes ago but I'm waiting on a recall. Kinda weird he knew my info.
I was on the phone with my mom and she complained she could hardly hear me. So she hung up and called back when she did her number appeared as 865-6696. This has happened before but I never thought anything of it. I am a sprint customer.

called and then hung up, left him a kurt voicemail about wasting peoples time. scammers are prevalent, be careful and don't answer this call
