RECIEVED CALL EARLIER TODAY (6/26/08). IT WAS A RECORDING THAT SAID YOU HAVE A COLLECT CALL FROM---THEN NO NAME JUST JAIL NOT PRISON. BEFORE I COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON THE RECORDING SAID YOU HAVE REFUSED TO ACCEPT CALL GOOD-BYE AND THE CALL WAS CUT OFF. WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF THIS IS A SCAM OR NOT!!!
This is a payphone in South Carolina. My boyfriend drives a truck and his cell phone was dead and had to call me from a payphone.
I got a call from this number @ 12:29am May, 14, 2010. My brother is stationed at Fort Hood, TX. He was supposed to connect to a flight in Dallas, TX to come to Ft. Lauderdale. My mom went to the airport to pick him up, and the flight was delayed. Then, I find out this morning, he never go on the plane. He may have been trying to call me from a pay phone in Dallas. I did try to call it this morning, but it just kept ringing and ringing..... Dunno if this helps, but it does sound like it's a pay phone company....
About 20 minutes ago a call came in as a collect call, twice in a row with a garbled voice when it said the call is from..... Since I could not understand the message and know the local jails state their name ( not that I accept them either) I did NOT accept the call either time. For now they have not called back. I *69'd it to find out number which was (214) 969-5489
I missed a call from this number this morning around 8:30AM my time. I'm not sure who could have been calling me from a payphone? Not sure where the payphone even exists? LoL Weird! & I'm in Montana!
Scam--Individual claiming to be an inmate at Roanoke City Jail making a collect call through Paytel. Sounds like a male saying "Ronald" in a quiet garbled voice.
Ok, everyone, I got a call from this number today, and googled it. Found this page. Got another call, answered it out of curiosity, and it was actually someone I know. Here's your answer: It is a payphone on the 3rd floor of the UMASS Community Health Link Detox center at 68 Jaques Street in Worcester, MA. The Detox is primarily for the homeless or those who have no insurance, etc. If you receive an unwanted call from there, you may want to contact their desk at (508) 860-1200. Or if you are trying to find a relative, look there. Hope this solves the mystery!
