Just got a call a few minutes ago from 216-545-8515 and it showed on my caller I.D. as Bank of America. I answered and it was a guy claiming to be customer service and wanted to conduct an on-line servery about my banking experience with BofA. At first I almost bought into it till he made one mistake, and that is asking for my full name of bank account number. I told him that he should have that information in front of him if he's really calling from BofA, but he continued to say it was to verify they're talking to the right person. I hung up and called the real BofA customer service number at: 1-800-432-1000.I pressed zero a few times to get to someone live and reported to them what just happen and gave them the 216 number. The BofA rep looked into it and verified 100% that 216-545-8515 is a fraudulent number and to avoid it. If you guys bank with BofA and got a call from 216-545-8515 and gave out personal information, please call your local Bank branch for 800 toll free number and report it ASAP.Be safe all.

I love how just because people "called the number back," and the recording says it is "Bank of America" they just take them for their word, as if there is no possible way an illegal phishing scam could LIE TO YOU. If you called me and I said I was the president, would you just believe that? Jesus people, get a clue, this is a classic phishing scam verifying personal data. Think about what you have provided them, a confirmed active phone number attached to a name that you verified, this is valuable information that can be sold to marketing companies. They might not ask for or have your banking information, they might not care, but be sure that it is indeed a data collection scam. Shady marketing companies sell lists like this of contact info to other shady companies trying to sell you crap.

The best way to confirm is to call your local bank of america and give them the phone number that called you. They can look at your history and confirm if they have made any calls. I assure you they wouldn't call to get your information and they would not use this number. This is most certainly a scam.

Same, I recently opened a BoA account and have been getting multiple calls a day from this number. I never answer because they never leave a message.

This actually is a SCAM. I called Bank of America & that number is not in there call center directory. Any info you give them will be used for identity theft purposes. That is the same number that called my brother & 3 days later $2500 was taken out of his account by someone in Ohio! BEWARE!

This IS Bank of America- positive. I spoke with the lady. She asked for no information, just wanted to verify we did indeed get our issue resolved (hubs forgot password for online banking). We did.I was thinking scam because caller ID showed a '216' area code instead of a Texas or 800 exchange. Sometimes, we do get good 'ol normal phone calls...sometimes.I check ALL numbers out that I do not recognize and No, I am NOT an employee for some scammer calling from this number writing a misleading comment as some conspiracy Yahoos may think. Answer the call & see what they want, and do NOT give out ANY data (they shouldn't ask you for anything personal anyway)

It is a scam, I just called BOA and they confirmed it.
