Just got a call from this number as soon as I seen the area code was 226 I didn't answer - Time called - 1:40pm Location (mine) Toronto On No message left Earlier I got a call from the 411 scam (10 am same day) Glad this site is available to know that it is for sure a scam - They should not be allowed to call cells ! I google all the long distance numbers that I am not aware of the area code or come up unknown location

Its a number for a survery, when I called it stated "this call was intended for you to participate in a survery, however the survery has now expired" and it allowes you to press 9 to remove yourself from the list... like that ever works. (Rogers customer, London ontario)
Sadly the days when cell numbers were semi-private look like a thing of the past. I just got the same missed call on my Telus number in ON. I never answer for numbers that I don't recognize. I read somewhere they can send your caller ID a fake number too. Some guy in ON with a legit small business got his number used by one of these telemarketers and now his rep is ruined.After renewing my numbers on the DNC registry, I seemed to get a jump in telemarketing calls from the US (NJ and FLA) so in Canada they may be using the registry as a call list and sub contracting to American companies who can't be fined by Ottawa.
