No. It is MY house, MY phone and I pay for both. It should be MY decision who can call me and at what time. If I tell you to NOT call me and you continue to do so, you are breaking the law. I don't want to answer your questions, it's none of your business and pissing me off is not going to get me to do what you want. If I DO break down and answer your stupid survey, I will lie and give wrong answers just to screw up your survey, like you screwed up my evening. I will tell you that I am a black Eskimo with 43 children under the age of 4. Or, I will keep being interrupted so that I tie YOU up for as long as I possibly can. At least if you are wasting time with my wrong answers, you won't be calling anyone else. It most certainly is not what it is!
If this is Pew Research, their way of doing business is way off base -- once you ask any research organization to stop calling you, they're supposed to stop. They're certainly not supposed to threaten you. I'm glad you reported this to Pew Research...did you ever hear back from them?
I'm in WA State.... They call relentlessly.... How does a survey clear on the other side of the continent help the??
I've gotten 8 calls from this company back to back. I want them to stop calling my home at all hours. I will be fileing a police report for harassing calls from them. They don't even have enough respect to leave a message when I don't answer the call. I am on the DO NT CALL LIST.
The No-Call list does not apply to SRBI or any organizations that aren't selling anything. We aren't solicitors, we aren't telemarketers.
The do not call list only applies to people that are selling something. Because we're not telemarketers, we do not have to abide by the do not call list.
They do that because, the way the computer is set up, it randomly decides if we'll be interviewing a man or a woman. it's made random to keep the amount of men and women equal in the results. Then, the computer will select the oldest/youngest man/woman. And the reason for that is because we ask gender-specific questions. We ask men about prostate cancer screening and women about mammograms, so we have to ask.also if you just hung up, then you'll be getting called back the next day.
That's fine. You can hang up if you want to, then you can get called back the next day. I can't change that, because I could get in trouble or fired for coding calls wrong just to appease impatient people that don't want to spend two minutes of their precious time listening to me. And trust me, I wish i could "get a job people appreciate." I can't right now, though. I still have to go to college, so right now my only options are SRBI and fast food. So i'm going to continue doing my job as i am required to do.
