this is from the the very smart Matt D posted in march 2008). For all you newbies I thought I'd bring back this brilliant act of pure and true civil disobediance! Power to the people, oh yeah! From Matt D: here is how to handle these called. I received these calls over and over because I was late on my Kohls payment. As soon as you make the payment the calls go away. But just in case I have another late payment in the future (could happen!) I did this:log into your Kohls online accountClick on the links that says "Update my account"Change your phone number to 262/703-1893 (in that format)this is the number for Wes McDonald, Chief Financial Officer of Kohls.my feeling is that if enough people do this, they may re-think their policy of spamming people's phones as soon as they as one day late with their payments!
Called over the weekend and again during the week. Lists as coming from Wisconsin. Left an automated message asking me to call 'Kohls' at 1-888-814-3555. Looked that number up and found a thread similar to this one, including a note from someone who contacted Kohls about it and was told that 888 number is not an internal or external contact number on file for anyone/department at Kohls. Blocking the number and moving on.
They call almost every day sometimes twice and early in the morn. Never leave a message
I got an automated message from 262-703-1977 (from caller ID); I did call the toll free number they left on the voice message and it was a man from Kohls saying my acct was past due. I paid the balance with my checking acct information. AFTER I did that, I called the # on my Kohls charge and listened to the automated choices, picked acct history, and the payment was received just as I did with the agent over the phone. I don't remember the toll free number I was given to call. After reading some posts I was worried, but this is valid.
Okay...so I have never answered this but they have left me various voicemails saying,"Hi' this is Kohl's.....Thanks for your buisness!BEEP!" AND ANOTHER SAID,"Dial 555!". The weird thing is, they always call me for a different number. I'm sure I didn't give them my number, I don't know how the heck they got it. I got their calls for about a month and it has stopped. They left a message about 2/3 of the time.
