Bottom fishers called me about a bogus debt claim. only one problem... I have not owed anyone anything for over 18 years! never even late on a payment before then.

Left me a voicemail and when I called back said I owed over $9,000 on a credit card. The only credit card I have is a Visa and I've had it for 15 years. All paid up and I keep it paid. I don't know what the hell these folks are up to, but they better stop bugging me.

Seems to call about every 6 weeks. The real Portfolio Recovery has no numbers that match, or would confirm. These are scum bags who get info out of the blue and try to threaten. Seems all my legal classes said debt IS A CIVIL matter. No court cases can be places against someone except for judgements which have minimal issues.

We received a number of calls from Portfolio Recovery from different numbers, several times a day, almost every day. I did not want to exhaust my blocking numbers by blocking every number they called from, so I filed a claim with the FCC. They have a better claim form now, especially where collection agencies are concerned. I explained the problem and harassment from them on the claim form, and it took about 2 weeks to get a reply from Portfolio Recovery, saying that we are not the people they are looking for and the phone calls would stop. Hurray!!!! The FCC finally came through!

See my posting below. I got them to stop. Report them to the FCC and check collection agency. It will ask you to fill out a claim form. It took about 2 weeks to get a reply from the FCC that PRA responded to my complaint. It was positive for us. No more phone calls.

I have received an anonymous call from this number and I don't recognize who it is.

They try to scam you through seaxual offers. Total scam avoid them.

Portfolio Recovery, they are chasing someone with the same last name as me! But will they listen....NOOOO!So I just don't answer...WIth programs now you can block them forever!So they might as well as stop calling...Phone don't ring, just goes over to machine, never a message!
